  Sunday's WT Study Article (May 18)

  this sundays watchtower lesson is titled who is wise and understanding among you?.

  its mostly a rehash of past material concerning the need to be cooperative with fellow christians for the peace of the congregation.

  however, i suspect that whole point of this study article is actually contained in paragraph 14 where it talks about elders who might be removed from their position if they are deemed by the body and the co as no longer meeting the scriptural qualifications laid out for the position.

  Man Not Woman Created In God's Image

  a few days ago i read a post the listed wt references that stated man was created in god's imge but woman wassn't.

  of course i don't agree with this and neither does my wife.

  i am unable to find the post and i need the references to convince my wife of this sexist wt teaching.

  United Nations Member Nations Consideration Implmentation of UN Income Tax

  this morning on the radio news, mention was made that the united nations member nations are considering instituting a personal income tax.

  this would be an income tax levied by the un on all of the worlds age earners.

  if this is done then imo we are truly on the brink of a new world order under the direction of the un.

  Rick McClean - JW Child Molestor

  several weeks back, someone posted on this forum that "america's most wanted" would air a piece on april 15th regarding rick mcclean.

  i watched the show last night and he was not mentioned.

  does anyone know if he has been caught, which would explain why they did not do a piece on this man or if there is another reason?

  usually i peruse the various topic categories such as friends, etc.

  spying out the most recently posted comments.

  for the past several days though the more recent posts are not showing up under their topic category but seem to be accessible only by clicking the link active topics.

  Islamic Cleric Convicted of Stirring Hate

  this was in today's ny times- london, feb. 7 a jury on tuesday convicted britain's most prominent radical muslim cleric of 11 charges of soliciting murder and racial hatred for using his sermons to encourage his followers to kill non-muslims.. this type of news is all to typical of what islam produces for "thinking" people to continue to ignore.

  where do you think all this headed and how can it be stopped?

  What's Happened To Friends?

  has anyone else detected a problem with posts to the friends category?

  i did not see any new posts since 12/2, so today; i posted a new topic in that category.

  the "friends" category has in my experience been the busiest in number of topics intriduced and posted comments on those topics.

  what has happened?

  my post today seems to be the frist new topic introduced in "friends" since december 2.

  Higher Education / Double Speak

  as we all know several years ago the wts seemingly changed their stance on one going on to college and furthering their education.

  it was acknowledged that "times have changed" and the ability to secure employment at a living wage might actually require a college degree.

  in any event going to college supposedly became a conscience matter and no one had the right to question a jw who made the decision to further his/her education.

  Entitled to Reach Out For Privileges?

  one of he paragraphs in yesterdays watchtower lesson spoke of brothers presumptuously reaching out for positions or privileges within the congregation to which they are not entitled.

  the indication was that doing this shows arrogance and lack of humility.

  no one commented on this wt statement when the paragraph was covered and my guess is because it made no sense.
