Love it, Gary! Ditto to what all the others have said. So sorry for your loss of your wife.

Kingdom hall right next to another chruch.
by JH intoday i took a ride in a city where i never go.
i saw a kingdom hall and about 500 feet away i saw an evangelist church.
both buildings on the same side of the street, look quite similar and so close to each other.

I live right next door to a Jewish school, though it is not right next door to a KH. Those folks really put the JWs to shame with all the activities they sponsor for those children! And the events are all well supported.
Sorry, not exactly the theme of the thread, but it made me think of it, so definitely a related thought in terms of comparison!

What about after the meeting, Luke? Much more interesting what you and your friends did - did you go skate(board)ing? Go out to eat and make fun of everyone at the Hall? Come on now!!

Did You Enjoy Simply Passing The Bread & Wine At The Memorial?
by minimus ini remember how little kids got so excited when they got to actually touch the glass and the dish!
yet, most people seemed to (respectfully) keep their heads down and try to look morbidly serious.
was the act of "passing the emblems" a thrill for you?

I didn't especially enjoy it, but it gave me something to do during the meeting.
And I liked the Memorial "meeting" best because it was only an hour and you weren't supposed to arrive early or stay long after, because of the other congregation that was leaving or coming next.

I'm looking forward to hearing your review of the meeting, Luke. Love your attitude about the whole thing! Hopefully you will use more words, so we get the whole picture.
You're so cool.
