  Hi Yvonne A - welcome to the forum!

  Just be aware that the long, long list of questions you'll be required to answer before you will be "qualified" for baptism as one of Jehovah's Witnesses is not supported by the scriptures.

  Also, please be mindful of the fact that while the Witnesses may now seem to encourage you to "investigate" what you're learning from them, you will not be even permitted to question much less investigate the teachings once you're baptized, on pain of disfellowshipping and shunning, if you're vocal about any disagreement.

  2005 Barbecue Is Definitely On!

  saturday seems to be much preferred over sunday, so this years bbq will be held on saturday, july 9th, commencing around 2 pm.

  location is our home in weston super mare.

  as usual, the day will be very boozy and proceedings will conclude in the waverley pub.

  I'm pretty much the same. My personality was formed outside the JW organization. What's different is how I view people and so my reactions are different. But the relief also comes from no longer feeling I have no right to really dislike anyone or any right to express what I really think of someone.

  Even if I change my mind later on something/someone I felt negatively about, I don't worry about what I may have said, like I did before. I'll make amends as I see fit but I won't beat myself up over anything.

  my husbands grandmother as been diagnosed with full blown ovary cancer.

  they fear that she also has it in her stomach as well.

  they are trying to get her to the or tonight in order to operate on her right away.

  i am, right now, watching vh-1's history of the jacksons and in particular, the charges filed against him.. they just showed how mrs. jackson became a devout jw, showed the kh, and a few wt mags.

  then, without expecting it, there was bill bowen!

  talking about the epidemic of abuse in this church.

  this site was recommended to me by someone on another ex-jw site i began frequenting recently.

  anyway, i am an ex-jw who has been disfellowshipped for about 7 years now.

  i was raised as a jw from the age of 4, didnt take to it until i was befriended by a pioneer who was an elder's wife, and she began a bible study with me because my mom ddnt have time to have bible studies with all of my siblings and me, there are 10 of us.
