"Baby, Baby" by Amy Grant. I never fail to think of him when I hear it. It stopped bothering me to hear it about a couple of years ago, though I stopped being in love with him years ago. He goes back about 13 years now....

From a true American patriot
by Simon inpeople have made claims that i am anti-american for expressing dissatisfaction about american foreign policy or dismay at the ills of american socity.. to be honest, i do not think i am anti-american.
i think i am more pro american than many of the people in the country who like to wave flags and buy t-shirts but who seem happy to turn a blind eye when things are not right and happy to see it's ideals sold to the highest bidder.
imo the true patriots are those who are willing to stand up and take the flak for saying "this isn't good enough, we demand better".

You are right about me speaking more about America and less about Americans ... maybe I don't make that clear enough? Even when Americans are discussed it's usually from the aspect of American society rathen than them as individual people.
I've always seen your "American" views that way. It was a given.
America's foreign policy affects the planet I live on and people I care about.
Other good friends who are British have expressed this to me too.

Spot The Fake Smile
Results
You got 18 out of 20 correct
Look at the labels below each image to see which smiles are genuine and which are fake.
Ticks and crosses show which smiles you got right and wrong. That was fun.

Donnie Darko is one of my son's all time favorite movies. He mentions it fairly often.

Ezekiel 3, oh my goodness!
How wonderfully witty EZ.Year 400: Ancient faithful ones are ressurected. In vengence Uriah kills David who has to be resurrected again. Uriah is stoned. Lot is reunited with his daughters. They spend the night drinking.
Year 620: A record number of suicides among the faithful. Most are not happy with their scant 1 acre parcel and spending full-time hours in the ministry trying to convince a 4th century Greek that he is a soul.
Year 660: The mass stonings are only aggrevating the issue. -

Nazi apologists and the WTBTS crusade against the Internet.
by Gill indon't laugh, now!
i was watching 'quincy' this afternoon, and the episode was about the denial of the holocaust.
what the person denying that the horrific holocaust actually took place was saying was that the evidence was fabricated, written evidence made up, and pictures were also concocted to appear that the atrocities had taken place.. well, it just reminded me, as many things do these days, of the wtbts stance on apostates and the internet.

by GoingGoingGone inhello everyone, this is my first post.... i'm in the process of fading after being a jw my entire life (almost).
i don't go to meetings anymore..... hubby's an elder, and boy, is he mad.
he still makes the kids go with him to meetings, service, etc... they hate it and i feel sorry for them, but there's not much i can do about it.. i've been feeling lonely today, i do miss my friends sometimes, and i have really good friends, but since i don't go to meetings i never see them much anymore.
