Sorry, Nosferatu, you threw me with your fancy computer skills! I didn't know everyone saw their own screen name when they looked at your last post here.

"The Apostates Are Infiltrating The Congregations Now"
by minimus inat the circuit assembly, my mother mentioned to me that the society is warning of a new danger.
there are witnesses that are on the internet reading apostate things but are still members of the congregation.
they are slowly being infiltrated by the 'apostates' and are still amongst us.

I was sitting in front of my new computer, reading the cult checklist on the Cults 101 site, and I realized the Watchtower Society is nothing but a big cult leader, and JW's were just another religion.
I couldn't believe it!
But I did believe it. And what a relief! So much fell into place so fast. It was great.

would you hit a woman if she hit you first? (for men)
by pudd ini would like to as the men on the board a question.
if your wife/partner were to slap you during an argument, would you feel that if you were you to hit back it would make you equal?.
we all know that violance, no matter how minor is wrong, but this is a question about equality.

I'm a woman, so yes, I would hit a woman back if I felt I should at the moment; but a man never should - restrain the woman if necessary, but a man should NEVER hit a woman. He should just walk away if he has to.

Hi Nan,
Welcome to the forum! It's so true, how the sound of reason falls on "our" deaf ears for so long, till we are ready to listen. I hope your daughter in law and son are ready soon.
It's so interesting, isn't it, that the rank and file JW''s would be disfellowshipped or announced disassociated if any of us overstepped any of the 100's of rules and laws laid down by the Governing Body, not even allowed to join the YMCA, for instance, just to use the pool or other facilities, since a lot of us are naturally strapped financially due to the lack of education that is encouraged and other burdens placed on us by the Society, but the Governing Body/Watchtower Society can join and support the U.N. for 10 years, compromising just to supposedly get a library card? That is a huge compromise, being part of what THEY loudly declare to be a filthy wild beast!
And they disfellowship people for simply speaking up about child abuse? What an unclean organization.
Well, take care, hang around; I for one look very much forward to hearing from you often.

New to the site, but got me on a train of thought....
by dustin_adam ini got ahold of the latest watchtower cd-rom (2001) from my grandmother, who is still an active jw.
i've added below a few direct qoutes from various publications... in one instance below the watchtower says that the bginning of christ's thousand-year reign will begin in 1975 with noted exception in error of "weeks or months, not years" then in 1975 they say that "it does us no good to speculate" on the date his reign will start!
because after his creation adam lived some time during the ?sixth day,?

Great looking grill! I've paid twice that, and had to give the grill away - the food was moist, but all you could taste was propane.
How do you avoid the propane taste??

I've Pre-ordered the book, and I can't wait to get it and read it. It starts shipping Feb. 18. Thanks Randy! Also read Jim Whitney's new article on the details of Rutherford's and the other 6 guys' imprisonment back in WWI - very interesting. You just can't go by the watered down, whitewashed version of anything they print in the Proclaimers Book.

Favorite childhood TV shows
by Nosferatu innow, i'm not referring to sesame street, mr. rogers, or any of the educational kids' shows.
i'm talking about the ones for pure entertainment, cartoons and such.
however, i can't really classify this as purely cartoons since some of you might have watched things like hr pufnstuf.. i grew up in the 1980s, when the magic of saturday morning cartoons existed.

We always liked The Flintstones and Top Cat.
Later, with my kids, we loved Eek! the Cat and The Terrible Thunderlizards and Life with Louie; later still, Recess.
I loved Green Acres and The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction and Andy Griffith.
Oh, and Elsewhere reminded me - we loved the Little Rascals.

I didn't start praying till after I left a few months ago - now it is a regular privilege. And I sometimes pray to Jesus, but mostly to my Heavenly Father. To understand Him better.
