High rates of depression in Org.
by chuckyy ini noticed after being a jw for a while that many members of my congregation were having to take antedepressants.
(i counted at least 30 out of 100).
after a few years i too began to have bouts of depression and problems with anxiety.

Poztate
Hey....I have done that. I think I said Blondie or "others"
I hope "someone" and "others" did not take offence that we mentioned Blondie first.
No, I'm sure no one has been or would be offended by that! I like it! Thanks Poz.

(((((Blondie))))) - I hope you get that scanner soon! Wouldn't that be easier with the arthritis? Or don't you have it in your hands?
Anyway, it does bring a smile to me everytime I see a "Blondie or someone please help - info needed!" post! Good job! *chuckles*
Seriously though, we have our own enigmatic life-long researcher here in you and I appreciate it!

Scully - You are amazing
by Uzzah ini just wanted to start a thread to state the obvious.
simply you are amazing.
despite all the pressures you face as a mom and a career person you manage to find time to care for others.

An Appalling Lack Of Manners & Social Graces
by Why Georgia inis it just me or are a lot of jehovahs witnesses just completely mannerless and lacking in social graces?.
examples....... they don't seem to say thank you for gifts or kindnesses.. i went to quite a few gatherings and burps and farts would happen without so much as a pardon me or excuse me.
i was even told once it's natural and there is no reason to say excuse me.. they will just stop in at your house if they are in the neighborhood and stay for however long without even calling or getting your hints that you happened to be on your way out.. i have met some very nice and polite witnesses but they are few and far between.. is my experience limited - has anyone else noticed rudeness, and a lack of manners and social graces?.

We have been proactive in not only engaging the neurosurgeon, but also in having alternative healing treatments. Lena has had treatments by two different practicioners and will have at least two more Reiki treatments pre-op. This sort of thing is fairly new to us, but Lena was sensitive to the healing energy right away, and why not use everything available to us?
Now that is intriguing, Michelle! Congratulations and good luck with your new book! I'll look for it.

Convention and Assembly Food Service
by POs Son inwell, a post from low-key lysmith on another topic got me thinking about the less than memorable food at the conventions and assemblies.
anyone have some thoughts to share?.
i missed the ham and cheese on rye-- it was one item that was actually pretty good.

Yes, I still hum one or two of the songs from time to time. Less recently than I used to. But I was always a big hummer.
