THE DILEMMA FACING APOSTATES
by You Know inthe dilemma facing apostate jehovahs witnesses, or apostate dubs, as i have dubbed them, (no pun intended) is the very fact of their seeming success.
one of the great ironies of the apostate movement, that presumptuously boasts of "know the truth about the truth," is that apostates themselves are bound by the watchtower's own interpretive shortcomings, and hence are massively ignorant of jehovahs judicial decisions regarding his organization.
in that the presumption in operation is that if enough scandal and error can be brought to light regarding the governing body, the watchtower society's teachings, as well as individual jehovah's witnesses, then that somehow means that jehovah's witnesses have no connection with jehovah god.

YOU KNOW:
DO YOU COUNT THIS AS TIME? WHEN YOU ARE IN THESE CHAT ROOMS AND RESPOND OR POST, DO YOU ENTER THIS ON YOUR TIME SHEET? IF YOU DO, AND WHEN YOU REPLY, IS THAT A RETURN VISIT?
if we are apostates, does this mean that the time doesnt count?

I can prove scientifically meetings are dangerous
by sleepy indid you know we were being poisoned at meetings?well did you fall asleep in meetings or conventions?.
there you are just had your dinner and the convention is starting back up , its saturday afternoon and that means you've got four hours of talks ahead of you, can't wait.. but then you feel sleepy , very sleepy.. so why did we fall asleep?.
3 reasons.. 1.the talks were boooooooooring.. 2.we were digesting our food and blood was needed from our brians in order to help, since we didn't need it up there antway(see reason 1) it was used else where , hence the sleepyness.. 3.carbon dioxide.all creatures breath out carbon dioxide which is poisonous and also makes you sleepy.usually this doesn't effect us but when you cram a load of people together in a small place this gass collects as it can't get dispersed easilly into the air.with all the yawning from people being sleepy from eating to much food and listening to boring talks( see reason 2) carbon dioxide was pouring out and poisoning us all.. so meetings are dangerous after all.every time we went we were being poisoned by other people.. now thats got to be a good reason not to go..

So What Was A Cause For Stumbling For You, Then?
by Englishman ini recall vividly my teenage years when i was the eldest son of a colourful po.
until you have spent several days residing at the home of the po of a large congregation, you can have no idea what sagas and dramas are played out day after day by the publishers in many congregations.. publishers, ms's, elders, they all want the ear of the po.
in effect, many publishers become totally unable to make even the smallest decision without first of all contacting the po.

i was the wife of a MS and i decided to get highlights on my hair. i was 24. im standing at the KH before it started, doing the wifely duty of greeting everyone. the other wives were complementing my new hairstyle, when another MS asks to speak to me. he was very nice, asked how my day was, also complemented my new hairstyle, then asked me if my husband was aware that i was going to highlight my hair. i stated not really. he frowned and then asked me if i thought it was a good idea to do it. i frowned and asked him why he would ask me that. and his reply was, that i might stumble someone in the congregation. i dont remember what i told him, but it wasnt nice, or better yet, it wasnt "respectful" before his eyes, which in turn he spoke to my husband about.
needless to say the car ride home was an argument on my sassy tongue and why i got highlights.
i think there is more to life then drama over a hairstyle and stumbling any idiot JW.

Would/Do you wear a Cross around your neck ??
by Prisca inafter all that we had drummed into us about not the cross, and particularly about not venerating the symbol itself, i have been wondering about this issue.. so, what are your views about wearing a cross around your neck ?
is it just a fashion accessory, or does it mean something to you ?.
inquiring minds would like to know

I was brought up a JW and left about 5 years ago. My dad, an elder, is a big garage sale freak. well, get this, he found someone selling a cross that he discovered was gold and it was cheap. so he bought it, because it was gold and it was a "find" and gave it to me, because i am not a practicing JW.
my mom (full-time pioneer) was really quiet as my dad was bringing it out and i was staring at her with a smirk on my face. i took it and i did wear it for a while, only to remind me what a joke my parents are.

What are your careers?
by The_Bad_Seed in.
having milled around this board for a little while, and getting to know the odd poster a tad better, one (at least i do) gets to wondering what some of you do for work.... i work installing custom hardwood flooring and ceramic tiles, with the odd wc renovation, and was going to start a career last year in avionics, but our friend osama put my plans on the backburner, until (or if) the canadian industry returns to normal.
i am considering going to university to further my photography skills, and am currently (and very slowly) working on a pictorial book that i hope to be published by the time i am 95. oh, and i devote 87643 hours of service to yhwh each month.. your turn.... .

I also lack a degree, because when I graduated (1989) my parents wouldn't sign college papers cause the END WAS HERE!
13 years later, still struggling in college, im a Billing Analyst for a major Internet Provider.

i had my eyebrow pierced (when i had just left the org, the body of elders DID not appreciate it), then my left nipple and finally my labret.

this is really good.
one word of advice, about your husband. when Dateline had that show about the child sex scandal I called my parents, (active witnesses) to watch. after the show, my father (an elder) was very hushed up...my mother stated: "oh no, the end is near, it is persecution!" which my father turned around and stated, "no, this actually put some doubt in my head". what i am trying to tell you is this: sounds to me like your husband is like my mom. the more you point out the negative the more they take it as persecution and run more and more into it.
i dont know what tactic you can try though...
