  Strike9 image hosting - what happened?

  does anyone else here use strike9 for image hosting?

  i have used it for a couple of years, but about two weeks ago the server apparently went down and i have not been able to access the site since then.. i've been wondering if it is gone for good, and if so, how i can contact them to get my money back (i subscribe by the year).

  any suggestions?.

  However, Murphy's Law has struck again --- now that I've started asking for help, guess what? Strike9 is back up and running again.

  my wife was appalled by the misquote in the reasoning book under cross - where the society quotes the imperial bible dictionary.. more information regarding this misquote is located here:.

  she is not convinced though - because she does not have an actual scan of the actual page to look at.. (yes, i have already tried contacting the author of that website - to no avail.).

  Did anyone else notice the discrepancy in the page numbers?

  The Reasoning Book references Volume I, p. 376 of the Imperial Bible Dictionary.

  But the scans at

  are from pages 84 and 85.

  In looking at the listings on www.abebooks.com, I see that there are different editions, which is probably the reason for the different pagination. But I thought I better mention this so no one is caught flatfooted! Also, if anyone plans to purchase one of the copies listed on abebooks, make sure you get the right volume. I would suggest asking the seller to check the volume they have to make sure it has the entry for "cross."

  I just wanted to jump in and comment that I think you're on to a good thing with the scans. There's something powerful about actually seeing this kind of thing.

  Have you show her other photos? I've had verrrry interesting reactions when I've shown photos of things like the big memorial pyramid at Russell's gravesite (with the cross-and-crown emblem carved onto each side).

  Also, if you are looking into the cross with her, she might be interested in the cross-and-crown jewelry which the Society was selling up until 1927.

The Society was still selling the cross jewelry at that point. There is a price list for the cross and crown pins, pendants, and accessories is in the right hand column of the page.
