for some the memory may be too painful, but i'm curious.. me.
it was 1966 in vancouver, bc.

Please help me with the forum
by Simon inkeeping a balance in what is allowed and what is not is very difficult and is more difficult if i have to take action against one person when i have let other things go by others.. it would help a lot if we could stop the personal attacks and some of the name calling & insults that are thrown about.
i know personalities do and will clash but please disagree about the subjects being discussed and not get personal!.
if you think someone is deliberately trying to cause arguments please do not respond to them as this is giving in to what they want.

loud, ugly and vile threats ... i wonder if brooklyn would approve of such a lack of self-control as well as outrageous and un-christian conduct - glad i now associate with people who wear their hearts on their sleeves ...
plus ... perhaps my thinking is mixed up here - but in shakespeare's words "methinks the lady doth protest too much" ... like ex-smokers who condemn smokers the most virulently, does the massive rant suggest latent gay tendencies ?

Crazy cult on TV last night
by bboyneko ini was watching tv last night and on tvland (a cable channel that shows older tv shows from the 50's onward) they had some drama about this little boy who gets edison's disease.. his mom is in a cult called satan fighters.
now here's an interesting beleif system, is it based on a real cult?.
they beleive when someone gets deathly ill, they are 'angel possesed' and that the angel is possessing the poor person to take him to heaven.

Organized religion- Good or bad?
by Vitameatavegamin inhello again friends,.
i have recently been pondering some over some thoughts on organized religion.
the jws always refer to other religions as part of babylon the great, in which we should flee from.

hmm ... working my way through 'Crisis of Conscience' - this very day i am on page 310 and in the middle of the 1980 purging of innocent and honest brothers and sisters at Brooklyn ...
without doubt the WT is a man-made, man-controlled organisation that is devoid of Jehovah's blessing - i feel outraged about the way people have been so heartlessly treated and I so wish I had seen this book before commiting so much of my life to this unloving and calculating group of men who base their control over the worldwide brotherhood on petty internal politics and traditions ...
sorry - rant over - I believe the WatchTower undoubtedly to be part of Babylon the Great ... um ... assuming I have Jehovah's intended understanding of what the harlot is ...

The branch coordinator wept during his convention
by Liquidizer inthe local branch office coordinator, mr. kankaanpaa, delivered the final speech in the summer convention held in tampere, the third largest city here in finland, and demanded all the ex-jw's to return back to the org.
suddenly he began to weep.
when he got his emotions under control, he instantly returned to the tradiotional wt phraseology: threats, intimitation and almost name calling (you know, that apostate stuff).

shunning is so irrational and yet the doublethink is that it helps those shunned - is a loving, caring way of bringing them back to the 'truth' ... sigh ... my family was near destroyed by the WTS rules ... but like all the associates we have here, i have seen and felt so much more natural affection than ever i met in a kingdom hall ... stick with us friend ...

Is this a rip off or what?!!!
by sleepy ini've been meaning to write this for a while but haven't had time .anyway about a week ago i returned from my holidays which included a trip to fance were i have relatives .during this breack my wife and i decided it might be intresting to vist the international convention staged in paris .. my wife had previously booked accommodation through the society via her mothers congregation in france.. the cost for 3 nights in 2 star accommodation was 15 pounds ($20) each a night.
which was less the the usuall price in this hotel.. i belive through making bulk booking the society gets discount.. imagine my supprise when i found out that poeple who had booked from britian through the society had paid over 600 pounds ($900) for 6 nights in 2 star accommodation not including flighs or meals.. where did all this money go ?.
i dont know how much poeple paid from other countries but i estimate that there were a least 10,000 brothers from foriegn lands.. if the true cost of accommodation was closer to 100 pounds a head they made 500 pounds profit on each pearson thats 5,000,000 pounds.
