  i am an active jw and was raised as one.

  i have been watching the site for a while and thought it could benefit from the opinions of someone who is happily a member of the jw's.

  i will not get into any argumets that lead to nothing except name calling, and will not talk with anyone who is just plain mean (plenty of them in here).

  hey a fear factory fan ! - or was that just your pal ? - i was constantly frowned upon by elders for my choice of music - if i liked celine dion then it wouldnta been a problem, but i go for pitchifter, korn, my ruin, one minute silence etc etc

  scum - might i suggest you withold any info that might help identify you - loadsa people surf here and you never know when someone with a grudge might make the connection

  good to hear from you - i speak only for myself when i say i have found more fellowship and consideration here than any kingdom hall i ever visited

  oh and finally - my name comes from a metal track too - any guesses ?

  reading the watchtower 'readers ask' article (which so clearly is not a reader asking) about 'should we pray for disfellowshipped ones' and i had the horrible feeling of 'doublethink' kicking in - twisted reasoning trying to take me over and allow me to accept the incorrect thinking.

  isn't this like a conditioned disgusting habit ?.

  is this posting like i'm taking it to the elders ?.

  most persons who die through lack of blood have made that choice for themselves.

  the consequences of such a course of action (often death) generally have an effect which is limited primarily to the individual who is refusing treatment.. however, the victim of a decision to shun has no input into that decision.

  therefore the 'victim' of shunning is a helpless recipient of that policy.

  crikey - what a choice

  i have to say that until i came to this bulletin board, i didn't realise the cruel scale of the shunning doctrine - i can't even bear to think what it must be like to be totally ignored by your own family - my heart goes out to all those of you who suffer through such an unchristian wickedness

  blood - it despairs me to think that at one time i would have sacrificed my children at the alter of the blood doctrine - or would i have ? ... i dunno - but to see the governing body decide to 'allow' certain other bits - who are they to play with our lives ? ... it appalls me to see these people strain out the gnat ...

  which is worse ? they are different - but thanks for discussion eman ...
