  Fred Franz Picture in Watchtower Nov 1, 2001 ! ! !

  browsing through the watchtower of 1st november and i was reading the story of russell kurzen.

  on page 23, there's a picture of him with albert schroeder, eduardo keller and fred franz.. your thoughts on this plz - is it a softening of attitude ?

  i would have thought it (policy wise) would have been inappropriate for them to, in a sense, acknowledge mr franz as a 'brother'.

  'You Know' the Devil's Advocate ...

  hey c'mon - doesn't anyone get the joke here - 'you know' is the 'devils advocate' - he is no more an active jw than any of us .... i have a similar 'alter-ego' on a work-based site i visit - call myself 'stzak' and i am a self righteous overtly religious bigot !

  ... does this sound familiar ?

  - my guess is that 'you know' is an apostate, and is having a fantastic time winding everyone up and ... gulp ... we swallowed it ...

  "Kingdom Hall" Sit-Com ... add a char...

  yes - it's friday night - it's peak-viewing time and a brand new sit-com is about to hit the small screen .... set in the local kingdom hall, all your favourite characters are here - wacky, wonderful, cuddly, humourous and also the nasty ones who (by the end of the half-hour slot) get their come-uppance .... how to play .... take inspiration from your fave classic sit-com and mix it up with some real-life person you have known and loved and maybe not loved at all .... eg ... father jack, from the classic 'father ted' - stands at the back of the hall with a mike, ignoring all the eager hands waiting to answer up and instead shouts out 'feck!

  ' and 'arse' ... .

  awh, go on ... go on ... go on ... go on ...

  Eze34 talking about 'apostates' on the net ?

  was in a chat room the other night and this guy quotes ezekiel 34 at me - says it refers to those considered apostates by the wt society.

  interestingly v14 sounds like the net to me ... comments welcomed ...

  oh ... sitting there ... waiting for the interminable end of the dreary and elongated rambling of someone with no public speaking skills at all ... please end ... anything to break this monotony is welcome ... even singing about 'christian youths' would be more welcome ... music pllllllease ... ahah 'now brothers, we will move into the service meeting with song number 47' ... and out blares ... guns'n'roses 'black leather' .... what cd would you like to sneak in there huh ?

  any GOBSMACKING meetings ???????

  was thinking about poor old brother who just stopped talking whilst giving a public talk ... went all quiet, then just keeled over ... gobsmacking moment it was - flurry of activity, fire doors flung wide open to get air to him - tie loosened - ambulance called - rushed to hospital - was okay - watchtower study brought forward - over-ran would you believe (was hoping to get away earlier) - excitement enough for one day though .... c'mon - lets hear about your audacious, breathtaking, heart-stopping, gobsmacking moments ??????????????????

  most HATED thing about the meetings ...

  hey ya'll ... ain't tuesdays, thursdays and sundays even better nowadays ?.

  i was wondering what it is that you hated most about the meets ?.

  the one thing that used to really rile me was the pressure to control the children - the frowns and the disapproving looks when they were just behaving like normal kids .... the worst of it all for me was seeing any little person being taken outside and hearing the loud slaps even when the door was closed .... what is it that you least miss ?
