JW here is my response -- people had in the bible had faith in the Jewish religious leader and the Jewish system of things -- what did it get them ? Faith in Jehovah and Jesus is far better then faith in a man made organization.

I realize people hear lack faith, Can't change them, but may this will help
by jw inthe apostle paul told the christians in the ancient city of philippi: "this is what i continue praying, that your love may abound yet more and more with accurate knowledge and full discernment.
philippians 1:9
similarly, accurate knowledge is needed for you to be motivated to believe in god.

JWs Try To Micro-Manage Every Possible Scenario In Life!
by minimus inwhy can't witnesses be like normal people?
because they have to think about every single possibility that might or could occur.
what if someone could be "stumbled" by my course?
-

It's funny that when a weak witness is in financial trouble, discouraged, without work, or with a personal problem, they don't think of how they can help that person.
That's not only a possible scenario, it's happening all the time.
What the brothers will do in this case is tell you to go to a family memeber, even if the person is DFD or not in the truth -- so when having money problems it always come down to asking those relatives who are in the truth first -- then those who are DFD and not associated -- could you image some one going to some one they have not spoken to for years because this person is DFD and then asking for monetary help

Would Jesus ?
by scrubmaster ini have been thinking about this for a while and while a lot of things posted here deal with directing at the wrong things in the org -- here is another way to look at things.
for those that do not believe in the bible or jesus -- this will not be relevant...... if jesus were here on the earth today in charge of the congregation - -would he give the elders a flock book and then tell them this is what is to be used, with out the friends knowledge when it came to judicial cases.
would he threaten ones who look at it?

Would have call those who have sin into some secret room and then ask them all types of questions to determine if they were repentant or not? Or would he expose those religious leaders who put heavy loads on the rank and file and often times seem more bent on dfing then showing loving help?
We he strongly condemn the UN as being the disgusting thing and the wild beast and then sign up for a library card to get access to information the wildbeast had to offer? Especially if a signing up was not needed to get access to the library.
Would he every month look to collect field service reports to see how spiritual a person was? Could you imagine him turning to Peter and saying how many field services hours did you put in this month?
Could you image Jesus providing endless rules or guidelines for the congregation or would he just set forth principles for the ones in the congregation, realizing that those who truly love him will following the principles with out needing rules or a lot of things.
Could you image Jesus ruling that once DF a person would have to stay out at least a year before they could reapply to get back into good standing. Is there a time limit on when a person is truly repentant is it just possible that it could be a few weeks days or months ( ie Peter denying the Christ and Jesus did not DF him)
Would Jesus one year say that something is a sin and then change his mind later to say it was not a sin?
These are just a few of the things I came up with. I am sure there is plenty more

Yeah -- when things are all say and done I am going to post some letters I got from the society on this one. Cause my questions was what if the people invovled were know night workers and therefore would only been seen in the house for long period of times during the day

Dozy - More Clarification on the UN Issue?
by slimboyfat ini know you feel a bit bombarded with questions, but please if you could clear up just a couple of things for me that would be appreciated since i found your posts on the issue especially interesting.
i must admit this whole "un scandal" bores me to tears and i have avoided most posts on the issue right from the start.
however, from the little i have read i think there are some holes in the defense of the society you have provided on this issue.

I personally wouldn't give a rats behind either about them joining the UN if not for the fact that they do not allow the same leverage for the "flock", and indeed hold us to another standard altogether. If we do the same thing on a MUCH smaller scale, such as joining the "Y" or going to a bingo game at the Catholic Church, we will most likely be DF'D. Plain and simple!
Thanks so much Interg --- I agree with you !

acceptable for a Christian...elders help as needed
Yes. can you image the Apostle going to Jesus and asking what type of recreation is exceptable for them. I am sure since Jehovah gave us free will he would expects us as his servants to choose what is exceptable as individuals. The funny thing is people still do not get the picture people can do what the are told out of fear of reprecussion from men -- but does this truly mean they love Jehovah and Jesus Christ. This is why I did not stay for the Watchtower this paste Sunday. The bible does not tell us to go ask elders what is appropiate recreation..if God does not give specifices why should elders?
Jesus...always used such occasions to impart spiritual blessings
When Jesus turn the water into wine now were in the bible does it say he imparted at spiritual blessing as a matter of fact the comments were made at how the host put out the superior wine..which usually meant the host would put out inferior wine after the good wine was all gone. Jesus did this to display his God given power no were does it say it was for a blessing. Then too when he was going to take the Apostle a way for a rest, since they have been preaching so much, no were in the scriptures is the impression given that he was going to do more teaching at that time. As Blonde stated the scriptures state not all of what Jesus did could be written down as it would fill many voulmes.
Wow are we babies now -- I am an adult and if I do not have the sense to proritize, then I would not have a job. So if the meetings and spiritual activites are important to me, duh I do not need to be told this, if they are not, then no matter what is said in this matter, I would still schedule things during whenever I wanted to. I can not see Jesus treating the Apostle as such babies. The whole thing that interest me is in one breath it is said Jehovah gave us free will -- but it appears that we should have the societies will -- If Jehovah gave us free will - then as free moral agents we should be able to decide things for ourselves with out specifics being given. Isn't this why Jesus condemn the religious for adding to the law?At a time that does not interefere with spiritual activities

Thanks Justitia Themis -- take this same article and insert the UN -- this would have to be given the same response. Dozy is interesting in his saying it is okay -- how could this be okay. Especially since membership is not even required to use the library. Dozy keeps referring to people being ex-witnesses -- I am not -- and I will also say this he must have forgot the part in the bible were Jesus condemn the religious leaders for their hypocrisy and they to thought they were doing what Jehovah wanted. There is not excuse for being assocaited with the UN -- NONE period !

Is the UN thing that hard to understand -- I challenge any witness to Join the YMCA and say oh we are only doing it for the pool, basketball and etc -- they would be in serious trouble probably DF --- why it is so hard to see --

Hotel Discounts, at conventions. Oh how we fooled ourselves!
by free2beme ini honestly thought, when i was a witness, that there was a special discount at hotels when i went to them at conventions.
not just a simple special that can be given to anyone, but rather an extra special discount that was negotiated with the watchtower society.
well that is not the case, i used to work in the hotel industry for a short while and we did conventions for everyone from religious organizations to clubs.

I figured it was not a discount....I could get a better rate with triple a
