I trust the NWT Bible completely. I sincerely/wholeheartedly believe that Jehovah God's Holy Spirit guided the New World Bible Translation Committee to translate the NWT revised version in 1984.

There may be some errors in translation in the original Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic languages. Some of the Holy Scriptures may have had a meaning that was slightly different from what the translaters thought, but in general and as a whole I still think the NWT Bible is accurate .

In an earlier post you said you sincerely believe Jehovah guided them in the NWT translation. You also then state in effect that Jehovah guided them in omitting some bible versus that they will be held accountable for? Sounds like you are confused.

What is your definition of the words "Jehovah guided" and "Jehovah inspired" or is it the same thing?

Why would God direct them to omit verses?

what exactly is put into the file on those who are disfellowedshipped?is the information very detailed,so that others can read such details,or is it just that they have been disfellowedshipped.. for example:suppose someone have been df.for a sexual matter,brother or sister.are the details descriptive of what was committed or is just that they were df.i know that on the outside of the envelope the name is posted and that's it.but if someone were to open the folder and look inside can they get the detailed information on that person?.

when do the elders destroy such folders?can a person who no longer wishes to come back get their records and destroy them themselves?.

Depends, have you moved or are you still in the same place. If you're still in the same place it's probably all still there.

We moved away for a year or so but have been in the same area for most of that time.

has anyone here ever tried to tread lightly until a certain date just so you won't screw up someone else's event by getting disfellowshipped or speaking your mind and getting shunned?.

i'm just wondering because my brother is planning on marrying a witness girl next spring.

the date is set and he's asked me to be best man.

Yeah he prob had to move it because of your nonattendance at the meetings and the elders wouldnt allow it. I hope all goes well for all your sakes.

Is the truth what Steve says in the shows (dangerous, not to muck around with)?

Or is it the baby thing was exposure to a harmless animal?

For the inexperienced crocs are nothing to muck with.

There are very few animals that are totally harmless. My child was inadvertandly attacked by a house cat when a stray dog happened on the scene and scared the cat so bad it clawed its way to the top of his head, when he bent over it wouldnt release its claws which were imbedded into his scalp and he desperately fought to stay on his head because he didnt want to go back on the ground because the dog was still there. He could have lost his eyes in that ordeal. It was not easy getting the cat to let go of his head.

Does that help.

I dont know for sure but I think they put the reason the person was dfed and prob mitigating circumstances if thought necessary.

I believe the name of the person and the elders are on the envelope. It is supposed to be consulted in the event of reinstatement application and the original elders are no longer in the congregation. It is not open for anyone walking bye or just wanting to look at the information.

I think you would have a hard time getting your records or getting them to even admit their was records.

Steve has probably fed that croc hundreds if not thousands of times. I think he knows what he is doing.

Sure it may have not been the smartest thing to do but I don't think he put the kid in any more danger than speeding during a rainstorm with you kid along.

How about parents who have their children doing flying trapeze acts. Or parents who take their kids flying in small airplanes with winds over 30 knots or inclement weather.

Where do we draw the line or make an issue of it. Steve does a lot of things that someone with less experience would not even think of doing.

Steve knew what the croc would focus on, the chicken, and knows exactly how fast and how far a croc can lunge from countless other feedings and experiences along the way.

All that being said it probably wasn't a good example to do something like this on public tv. You wouldn't see me handling poisonous snakes the way he does either, thats for sure.

I'd say give him a break. Everybody does something not so bright once in a while. Look at us and where we came from. Nobody's perfect.

He puts on a good show and to get good ratings and sell advertisements you have to be sensationalistic. I am sure he believed he was not putting the child in any real danger and probably misread what the audiences reaction might be.
