i figured that this must have arisen in the org because of the article they had in the mags about 4 years back on the subject.
since then i have heard of a couple who have claimed to heave been satanicly ritually abused as jw's .

It seems to me that Jang is not 'listening', and its not a matter of "arguing for the sake of argument" as you put it, but that we sometimes feel like we are beating our heads against a brick wall.

In response to my post you said "only help ourselves and not try to help others" - No that is not what I'm saying at all. We all need help many times in our lives. But the fact is it doesn't matter how much help you give some people it makes no difference. If they don't help themselves they won't get anywhere.
Ever heard the saying "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink"? Jang can post all the information she wants (and she does) but, unless someone wants help its to no avail.
There are some people that just don't want to hear it. And you can say they don't need to listen, but when you are sticking things in peoples faces all the time we as humans don't like it.
There are other people who don't want to hear it all the time because yes it does dreg up memories they don't want to be reminded of.
Jang is there if someone wants to talk to her and she can help them, but it does not endear her to people when they get bombarded with stuff they really don't want to think about. When they are ready they will talk to someone. And yes at times they need a little coaxing but, coaxing is not continually sticking it in their face.
You use the example of Ray Franz, he never pushes his ideas or beliefs on to people. If they choose to read his book, good for them, he gives them his time, he listens, but only when they want it. I too am glad of Ray Franzes efforts in trying to help others leave the WBTS.
The point I am also trying to make to Jang is that there is "a time and a place for everything".

How often does the Media tell the truth? ... Prince a Witness! LOL ... Wheres the proof? ... Has he given up his career or just given up swearing.
Since when has the WBTS ever accepted someone of Princes calabre, without radical changes.
Just look at the Witness's, do any of them really have a mind of their own and stay in the Borg? They censor music, dress, entertainment and everthing else you care to mention. Is Prince going to be devoting his time to preaching every week, 5 meetings a week, study WBTS literature for the meetings every other night? Is he going to become assimilated?
When I see proof of him doing all of this then I'll believe he is part of the collective.

You are not even asking victims to come forward, but asking people to give you "heresay" of other peoples problems. It is no one elses place to tell you of others experiences.
This is "research on how fundamentalism affects people in this area ....." and I do not see what this could possibly prove.
No matter how bad a situation has been or is we should always use it to our benefit. Our experiences mold us into the type of people we are. We can constantly view ourselves as the victim and draw attention to the fact that we are a victim and have every right to do so, OR we can make the best of a very bad situation and use it to grow as a human.
There are many people, who once viewed themselves as victims, decided to use their bad experiences to make them into a better person.
We don't have to be happy that we are victims, but we can use the experiences to mold us into better people.
Reliving past experiences over only serves to bring the hurt, the bad emotions and feelings back and this is not a healthy way to live. Move on. You can't change the past, but you can certainly make the most of your future.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes I'm an exJW for a few years now. Found this forum and love the chat room. There's a lot of ex witnesses on this site. I didn't realise there were so many. It does look like the KH's will be closing down soon
