  Random,

  Derek submitted some of the WT publications artwork to experts to analyze with regard to subliminal or hidden image content. He also spent some cash to research the subject, along with symbology, etc., and found what appeared to be satanic references in the literature along with a bunch of other crap the WTBTS has denounced as satanic, demonic, etc, yet it was all there in our Christian publications dispensed by the faithful and disc. slave, and he presented his findings to the WTBTS and asked, "sup", to which they said, "how dare you!"

  Derek was df'd for apostasy, and the committee sat his whole clan down to ask them to denounce Derek, to which they responded, "um . . . no". The entire family was then put out and denounced as apostate. Derek took all of his research and wrote a book called, "The Hour Of Darkness" about the whole subliminal images in the WT thing, (I have not read it yet).

  Derek, and his entire family, were really good folks. Loyal, dedicated, and about as faithful as any JW's I have ever known. It took alot for the boy to come out strong with his research and confront the Society, and for that, he has my respect and admiration. I miss him.

  Rem, have you ever witheld the truth from someone you thought was a total moron and could not handle it? The demons sometimes look at humans and think the same thing. It seems as though they impart knowledge of themselves to humans who have the capacity to understand and deal with their existence, especially when it serves their purposes.

  Who was it that said, (paraphrasing) that the greatest trick the devil ever pulled off was convincing man that he does not exist?

  It should make you wonder when believers feel so threatened by a skeptical, rational viewpoint.

  1. What should it make one wonder . . . ?

  2. Of the various definitions of the word, "skeptic", which do you identify yourself with?

  3. And as far as "rational" goes, "rational is: agreeable to or in accord with reason; reasonable; sensible. Your reasoning has to do with your own personal experiences and what you have read by others that support your "viewpoint", by those who are also non-believers in other words. Just like you . . . and me . . . and everyone else, their knowledge and personal experience is LIMITED, and simply because you can't see or prove any other way, doesn't mean it does not exist.

  4. Besides, you are not a true skeptic. A true skeptic is one who believes that true knowledge of things is impossible. You seem pretty sure of your "true knowledge".

  5. The original question I posed at the beginning of this thread had to do with an idividual's personal experiences with demons while in "the truth". I don't think anyone asked for a speech on whether or not they exist, or if one who believes they do exist is less intelligent than Rem who thinks they don't exist, but that could be your next thread.

  Then I learned about how the brain works

  Ha ha, Rem, there you go again, thinking you understand how the brain works . . . even scientists and doctors admit they really do not understand how the brain works.

  After 100 years of scientific research there is zero evidence of paranormal activity.

  A scientist who claims that zero evidence of paranormal activity exists has never experienced or been exposed to paranormal activity.

  I'm not sure where you get that imformation from, but there are alot of people with incredible experiences that would argue and staunchly disagree with you. For example, I have a close friend who showed me a video tape he recorded in an apartment he use to live in. The camera had an ultra-sensative night vision mode that shows light streaks zooming and darting across his livingroom, dancing and bouncing in and out of the walls and doors and windows, the (unplugged) television set, and (turned off) wall heater vent. Never saw anything like it before!

  In my hometown of San Diego, in Old Town, we have the "Waley House". It is an old house, now a musuem, and is the only structure in all the US that is certified by the government as being truly haunted, because of the undeniable evidence indicating it is inhabited by spirits. Many local celebrities and so-called scientists have attempted to spend the night in the structure to disprove its haunting and have not been able to remain inside for more than a couple of hours because of the manifestation of "spirits" and their obvious resistence to anyone hanging out, as it were. The spirits literally drive out anyone who tries to spend too much time inside . . . so no evidence? Hmm . . . what do you want or need as evidence?

  Did the "demonic visitations" decrease or cease altogether after have left the org, or decrease or cease once you made you mind up that the org was bullony?

  Had you had any experiences with demons before you came into the organization?

  thanks again to all those who responded with an open mind to my postings regarding hidden images in the wt publications, but wow, i have heard from some pretty forceful personalities who are apparently still pissed off about getting duped by the wtbts.

  so many flames, so many flamers .

  calm down, get some pot, get some beer, get some therapy, but please get over it and yourselves.

  i was getting my hair cut the other day, and the man seemed to be older and wiser then the normal youthful people i get in this profession.

  so i decided, this would be a good person to take advice from on how to raise my children.

  then the other day, while walking threw the mall, i saw an man picking up some trash and realized he was a janitor.

  This Generation Has Passed Away

  i was raised by the society with the constant drumbeat in my head: "this generation will by no means pass away ...".

  when i was a kid, "this generation" was defined as one who not only was alive in 1914 but was aware of the changes in the world.

  they were old enough to know the world before 1914, the war on earth, the war in heaven, jesus' installation as king and so on.. .
