Could WBTS be forced to pay tax in America?

Even if tax was charged in the US, they'd find a way to avoid paying it.

The literature donation is a classic example. Mr Swaggert gets stomped on for taxes, within a month, the WBTS gets new light and now all literature is not charged for, but voluntary donations are requested.

Call me cynical, but after the French decision to fine the WBTS millions of dollars in back tax, hey presto, there is now a website, in the UK, where all brothers and sisters world wide can now donate, from the comfort of there own homes and the WTBS will never have to disclose to any government how much it gets in donations and therefore never have to pay any tax. As far as I can see, the charity tax issue is not a vote winner in the UK, so I can't see it happening here.

Who has the slowest computer here?

i was just wondering who has, not the fastest, but the slowest computer here on jwd.. i'll start.

mine is quite slow, but as long as it goes, i'm satisfied.. i have a amd-k6 450 mhz with 256 mb of ram .

any slower computers here?

Mine is so old the only mouse it has is inside, running round in a wheel, keeping the valves glowing.

Another name for Christmas???

i absolutely love this time of year, and the warm feelings, and the general feeling of good will emitting from people, but, not really having a faith in christ or religion, i somehow find it difficult to use the word christmas, as it denotes a celebration of christ... .

for those of us who enjoy this season, but aren't really firm believers, can any of us think of a name that could be used instead of the word "christmas", that would have special meaning for believers and non-believers alike, a word that evokes the same emotional feelings?

i have spent the past week decking the halls, and setting up the "christmas" tree(s), getting ready for this holiday which i enjoy so much, but it is that one word "christmas" that somehow makes me feel as though i am contradicting myself, because i no longer have a faith in that higher power.

Can you imagine if he became a baptised dubbie and ascended to the throne?
JW would be the state religion. It would be the United "Jehovah's" Kindom. Brooklyn would be moved to Slough (you seen The Office?). It would end up the Christian version of Iran, a secret police force made up of elders, who monitor meeting attendance and field service reporting and play nice cop bad cop on shepherding calls.
Geez, you could really have fun with this scenerio :)
