Yes! I'm an orgasm donor. Just ask my wife.

i know i read that at one time organ donation was something forbidden and then after a while it became a conscience matter for jw's.
(someone correct me if i'm wrong please).
i was watching a television show last week about a very interesting triple liver transplantation involving "live donors".
Yes! I'm an orgasm donor. Just ask my wife.

getting to know various personalities on this board, i get to feeling that a missing component in my life is to get *really* into something.. for instance, the board has our resident intellectuals and political debaters.
i am in awe of the broad scope of knowledge and seemingly instant recall of obscure facts that many on this board seem to have.
i consider myself to be fairly intelligent, but i am light years from being a true intellectual.
Golf! Golf! Golf!
Just got back from three days with guy friends. Played Bandon Dunes, Pacific Dunes (extremely tough course) and SandPines. Stayed at the Lodge at Bandon Dunes. Very upscale. My wife bought the outing for me for my birthday. She did the same thing last year. Love her.
I'm only into this golf thing for about 5 years now, but absolutely love the game. Played today at my own course with my wife. We just bought our first golf cart, too. She loves the game, also and we play alot.
But she likes it only when the weather is good, and I dig it at anytime, literally.

I wouldn't do it. The end is very near. This is no time to be sailing around the ocean.

i was reading an article titled "saddam's interogators" on page 22 of the april 2004 issue of soldier of fortune magazine, and came across what i thought was a very interesting paragraph: (page 27) "the interrogators will offer simple inducements.
if saddam answers a series of questions, he will be promised uninterrupted sleep.
and possibley a change in his carefully monitored diet.
Thanks Nathan for your interesting post. I guess one might expect this sort of treatment at the hands of one's interogators. But...gee, the WT is in the business of providing "sustenance" and "comfort" aren't they? What a parallel you've drawn! Thanks again.

while growing up, i can't remember the countless times my mother said "so, if you're friends all decided to jump off a cliff - would you?
" in response to my comment that all my friends were "doing it".. now, as an adult, i realize that the jw's do exactly the same thing, blindly following their predecessors, family & friends regardless of whether it's right or wrong, or whether it will be harmful to them mentally or emotionally.
perhaps that's an indication of society in general - ergo so many different cliques/groups/sects.. now that you've left the jw's, do you find that you still blindly follow?
It is fantastically liberating to be able to finally say what you're thinking. Gee, when I was "in" and my friends would sit around with me and have "conversations", no one ever deviated from the party line. Now, you know everyone doesn't agree at all times. But in the little make-believe JW world everyone does! Isn't that amazing?
Everyone was afraid of the same thing. Being branded as spirtitually weak or worse yet, an apostate.
The balance of my thoughts are parallel with Puternut.

in the brief time that i've been reading jw-related postings and sites on the net, i've seen a lot of stuff regarding the jw leadership being all about the money with the implication that there is something unsavory about their acquisitiveness.. if that is true, what exactly do they want it for?
from what i've read, the gb seem to live reasonably well (better, in fact, than the average jw would expect, i think) but it hardly seems anything that would have earned them a spot on lifestyles of the rich and famous.
so, why would they be so concerned about amassing organizational wealth?
Maybe there'll be new light and tithing will be introduced. That should help! Even ten percent of a window washers wage is something. And probably more than the five bucks he shoves weekly into the collection box.
Lets see....hmmm. Six million members contributing 10% of their wage. Can we get that spouse to lighten up on field service and take a part time job?

unofficial poll: testing tonight's 60 minutes update
i would like to thank all who have replied to my quesstion about hitting back at woman.
i would like to ask a further question about this situation.
some have surgested that my friends girlfriend acted in self defense when she slapped him because he was pinning her in a corner and yelling.
This is what I've learned:
(1) Hitting a woman is out of bounds for me. I couldn't do it. The few punches I've thrown in my life were designed to do the maximum damage to the target person. And I think I would instinctively react in that way if I ever was suitably provoked. So over the years I've just never allowed myself to consider it as an option.
(2) Where I live, words are not considered sufficient provocation to justify any type of violence. So you'll pretty much go to jail, pay to take anger management classes, and pay lots of fines. Not worth it. Don't let anyone bait you.
(3) Any type of violence that is initiated by one person against another can only be returned with the same level of violent behavior. Slap for slap, shove for shove, etc. If you're the one who escalates the violence, at that moment you become the aggressor.
For what it's worth...

why is it that cashiers hand you your change back with all of the loose change on top of haphazardly stacked bills?.
man, that pisses me.
i remember years ago when i was trained, we always handed the change back into the open hand.

Man, that pisses me. Especially in the drive-thru. I remember years ago when I was trained, we always handed the change back into the open hand. (actually counting it back to the customer in those days). Then the bills. Apparently not any more.
The other day I decided I would be pro-active about this instead of just whining about it. So at Starbucks, just as the clerk was about to make my change, I said "change first please". Just to see what would happen. I said it with a smile, too, but she still gave me one of those looks like she was really being imposed upon. So I don't think that'll work.
Anyone else bugged by this?

recently i had occasion to speak with an elder i hadn't seen in a while.
(although i've been out for twenty years now, my wife and some of my children are still locked within the org's tender embrace, which led to my happening to encounter him and our resultant conversation.
) he's someone i consider a really good guy at heart, truly caring and sincerely working at being a good shepherd as he sees it.
I can't imagine a person, such as you've described, not being pained over any negative fallout as a result of a decision he made. Only an uncaring, cold-hearted individual would not carry around and think (worry) about how his shepherding was affecting others.
Not saying there aren't these types in the Borg. Clearly there are. But my money is that they (the elders) probably don't relish disciplinary actions, but will do it out of their misplaced trust in the Governing Buzzards.
