Just curious.

Contributions? Wait On Jehovah!
by metatron inclearly, there is every earmark of financial worries within the watchtower society.. even governing body members have expressed concern about falling contribution levels.
within congregations.
yet, for the faithful, the answer is simple: wait on jehovah.. .

Something Proplog2 says offends me.
He seems to indicate that JW's under the instruction of the WTS do not fight wars "over imaginary lines". Says it like it's some sort of good thing, a badge of honor one would wear with pride.
I say, that it's shameful that they won't defend this country, it's Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc. but will invoke every damn right that is guaranteed by those documents!
They will use every rule in the book, a book they won't defend!! By the way, it's no coincidence that the headquarters of the WTS Corporations are located in the US, and not in Rwanda, Burundi, etc.

Mine's under about a thousand tons of earth in the local landfill. Along with every Bible, book, magazine, territory form, etc.
Dust to dust, ashes to ashes. Good riddance!

My first wife hit about 35 years and decided she had lived life long enough with "small" breasts. So...we fixed that. I can truly say, while I was dead set against the idea and thought it unecessary, it seemed to make her happier. So I was Ok with it. She said, "for once, my clothes hang better on me".
Of course it wasn't long before she caught the eye of Mr. Right at the store where she worked, and was gone from me.

Dated a JW gal named Marty from Crooksville. Southern Ohio. She was a buyer for JC Penney Co.
I'm a little surprised that there's not too many others on here near my age from Ohio.

things I do not like about xmas
by zen nudist in.
aside from the reasons jws give as it being a pagan holiday renamed..... i do not like the fact that parents think nothing of lying to their children about this mythical santa claus.
and the constant hollywood movies making anyone who exposes the gag as an evil monster...while giving children reasons to believe that santa claus really does exist after all...ignore your older friends who have been poisoned by the secular world.. i find it appalling to ever teach a child to simply expect people to give them things just because the calendar says a certain day.. i find the mindless devoution to christmas to be just as appalling as the brainwashing jws do against it... i see people in my office acting like german clocks... the clock strikes easter and the decorate the office, strikes holloween and they decorate again...strikes christmas and more decorations..... then the frets and worries over what to get who and how much to go into debt over it.. i knew one lady who spent over $300 on a child less than two and was very depressed about two weeks later when the novelty wore off and only very inexpensive things returned as the main attraction.

I think Christmas is a neat holiday. Wished I hadn't missed out on it as a child, and even more, I wish my own kids childhood hadn't been deprived of it.
About the only thing I dislike about it, is that some stores and radio stations begin too dang early with the music, shopping ads, etc. Gets on my nerves when they start in late October.

Recently my brothers and I located my aging mom in a care facility. (she's 85 years old) I'm the only apostate one of the bunch. There's my two twin bro's, my baby bro, and my next younger bro. Five of us boys. I was kinda wondering how it would go when we all met.
Turns out they treated me cordially. Got into a long debate with one of the twin bros, but baby bro came along and signalled him to come outside the hospital room. Out in the hall he must have said something to him. I presume that it was JW counsel stuff, cuz after that he didn't talk with me, except in very formal terms. It was very obvious baby bro carries the largest JW credentials with the rest of my siblings.
I did get a chance to lay some serious thinking on the one bro who would talk with me, so I don't know what will come of it. They're all so paranoid. But I think I did cause him to think.

Was There Ever Any Rule That You Thought Was Silly In The Organization?
by minimus inthe rule on having "large gatherings" was stupid.
because some people abused a "christian get-together" that had a lot of people, we could only get together in smaller groups.
