Blondie, thanks for the review.
I cringe when the WTS downplays getting any sort of education after high school. In todays world, it is a big mistake. I followed the wts "advice" and chose to pioneer rather than go to college. 10 years later I am df'd with no degree and no reputable business will look at my resume with "high school diploma..." Living in a large city makes it 10 times worse. And its not like I could plead during my judicial hearings that I skipped college and pioneered, worked at the kh etc. None if it is good enough if you don't follow the jw rule book.
My advice to jw youth is to GO FOR YOURS. Like earlier posters mentioned, jw youth are some of the smartest kids out there. And yes, my guidance counselors were perplexed that I wanted to skip college in order to do "volunteer work". They asked, can't you do that on the side and still go to college? The WTS would like you to beleive that you cant. And they guilt you by using terms such as "whole souled service", and "seek the kingdom first". I had to learn the hard way that it is not that black and white.
I will be going to school in January, by the way.

Agreed with all!!!
When problems start getting me down, I say to myself, "I am better than (insert problem here). Why am I letting it rule and dictate my life!"
I have also learned to go after things instead of dreaming and wishing, I am taking the steps to get there.
I work in an office, 9-5 monday thru friday. Every monday I hear the same thing. People moaning and complaining over the fact that it is monday and the weekend is over. And then on friday, its all about "TGIF" and people raise their spirits. And that is the reason why they are so depressed on sunday. I don't live for the weekend. Its only two days. I live each minute as it comes to me, taking every opportunity to learn something new, experience something different and to improve myself overall. I do this every day, not just 2 days a week. I enjoy simple pleasures and I do not wait for someone to come along and "entertain" me.
In my opinion that is a big barrier which prevents people from truly being happy. ENJOY LIFE!!!

If The Watchtower Allowed You To Ask A Question From Readers......
by minimus inwhat would your question be?

If the amount of time spent in the "preaching work" is supposed to be between the individual publisher and Jehovah, why then the requirement to turn in monthly field service reports with ones NAME on it?

Great Job Blondie!
Why didn't the WTS use a dictionary definition of apostate for the benefit of those who are not too familiar with the word itself, perhaps those who are studying with JW's?
"One who has forsaken the faith, principles, or party, to which he before adhered; esp., one who has forsaken his religion for another"
Is it because a "bible student" would say, well isn't that what I am doing by studying with JW's and no longer attending the church that I belonged to? How would a JW answer that question? Hmmmm...
So interesting having grown up around the organization, that I accepted the WTS definition of "apostate" and would get a bad feeling come over me when the word was even mentioned.
Interesting as well is what the Insight publication says about apostates:
"While still making profession of faith in God?s Word, apostates may forsake his service by treating lightly the preaching and teaching work that he assigned to followers of Jesus Christ. (Lu 6:46; Mt 24:14; 28:19, 20) They may also claim to serve God but reject his representatives, his visible organization, and then turn to ?beating? their former associates to hinder their work"
How the WTS goes above and beyond the definition in order to define and apply the term to iteslf almost exclusively. Is this not deception as well?

Describe some the "typical" dubs you would find in nearly every KH
by doodle-v insister self-rightous busy body-- always has her nose in everyone else's business.
makes a point to ask questions without really asking them like "oh we havent seen you here in a looong tiiiime" and "we miss hearing you comment at the meetings" .
brother womenizer--known for dating all the "available" sisters and dumping them .

brother/ sister "repetition-for-emphasis" : The one who reads the entire paragraph over at the watchtower study when giving a comment.
sister over-zealous: usually a pioneer sister who refuses to stop her field service time under any circumstance, hunger, cold, bathroom etc
brother/ sister always-out-of town: usually a pioneer or bethelite couple that are ALWAYS on a cruise, vacation, anything but in town. and in the case of pioneers, they usually have a part time job making very little pay, yet they have a car, an apartment, nice clothes and are always on vacation....hmmmmmmm

Circuit Assembly experience...
by No Apologies in"and they're both getting baptised today!
no, not that kind of experience.. .
this happened this last weekend at the circuit assembly my (jw) wife attended.

more than likely, the grandmother was baptized so she received no help. If she were not baptized or simply just an "interested one" then she would have had no shortage of help, no doubt from a pioneer... if you get my drift....
"let me help you up....have you ever thought there would come a time when people won't fall down and have to cry out for help. notice revelation 21:3, 4....no mourning, no outcry...how does that sound to you?"

Blondie, Nice job as usual. I found this interesting in paragraph 6:
"Do you seek and take full advantage of opportunities to speak to strangers about Jehovah's kingship?"
"It is urgent that people learn about Jehovah's everlasting kingship..."
Out in the "ministry" we spent more time deciding who was going to work with who, who was going to drive, who had to leave at 11 AM, thus stranding their partner who had to be picked up by another group, driving from one end of the territory to the next, talking for at LEAST 10 minutes before getting out the car to do a return visit (whom we knew was not home), stopping for coffee breaks, making runs to the post office, etc. In the meantime, people would pass us all the time on the street, and instead of taking an "opportunity", we'd let them walk by and continuted to talk (gossip) to one another. If it were so URGENT, why don't jw's act like it?
