  I don't quite know. I'm not a doctor, psychologist, lawmaker or anything related and only know a small amount about this compared to an "expert."

  Yes they will know about him but this won't stop them from going out in service with him.

  Probably not. I can only hope the elders would do everything within legal means to keep the children he may come in contact with safe. It would be great if they would tell him pick some other type of service besides door to door. But I doubt that would happen. In any event, he may not get out, so this is all moot.

  Yeah ...your right ...as long as it doesn't happen in our neighborhood or anyone that we know ...who cares about kids we don't even know...

  Unfortunately that is the way the world turns. I am in no position to do anything about this man's release. If it was my backyard, I may be motivated to switch my priorities around. But for now, I can only trust that the local citizens there will handle the matter. Please do not insinuate that I am less than ethical...because the return argument would be if you are so altruistic, why aren't you travelling the world building orphanages? We can all do more to help others, but it has to be balanced with helping our own families and our own well being.

  There are many more accounts as well as BOE letters that prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the WTS by its policies tried to hide these cases.

  Then it shouldn't be a problem winning this case I would guess. I hope the Berry girls are able to use the money wisely.

  I'm not sure I agree with sueing the society over this. The responsibility for this has to end somewhere. The mother decided to listen to the elders about her daughters. Is she going to be sued by the girls?

  I could sue the society for telling me to not go to college back in the 80's. I could sue for lost wages and opportunities (not sure that I'd win, but that's not the point.) But I don't view it as their fault (although I do resent them), I'm the one who listened to them, I'm the one who didn't go.

  I guess I'm not sure why the mother, who has greater responsibility for her children than the elders do, is absolved from responsibility, but the elders and the WT aren't.

  Going door-to-door by himself or with a "chaperone" that probably won't have a clue about his background.

  I would guess that since his name is printed in the newspaper, people in that congregation will know about him.

  Thi Chi....I have many friends that work at Atascadero state hospital. NO...they cannot be rehabilitated.Once they get the "taste for blood" there is no going back.

  Is that your expert medical opinion?

  What do you propose be done instead?

  I know I certainly don't know more than the fellows who have worked to rehabilitate him, so until then I can't rightly criticize. All I can say is that I'm glad he's not being let loose where I live (although I'm sure others have.)

  so far for album of the year 2003 is the white stripes "elephant".

  using vintage instaments and laying them down on an old 8 track give this album an old school flavor.

  with the energy of the buzzcocks with an instamental sound of vintage stones

  Honestly, I think White Stripes latest is their weakest album, except for a couple tracks. For anyone into White Stripes, if you haven't already, check out the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Dim thanks for the heads up on Grandaddy releasing a new album. Sophtware Slump made it into my top 30 all time albums.

  now, the war is over, the weapons were not used and of course have not been found.. how threatening could they be if they did not even use them when being invaded by a massive force (of the countries they hate)?!

  perhaps, as many suspect, they didn't use them because they didn't have them?.

  now we're being told that we'll have to be patient and give them time to find them.

  why do some of you still go to the kh/read the mags etc?

  i know some of you still go to the hall, are in the organization at some level of activity, or at least read the mags.

  my question is, why?

  i've got my ideas, like for family etc, but my curiosity leads me to ask.

  I'm similar to Undercover. I probably go to a few more meetings, though not sure why. I even comment when it is something I agree with. And if I can throw in an "alternative" viewpoint without raising red flags, I do that. I actually have a really cool congregation, very liberal. Don't do service or turn in time, read the WT, study for the meetings or give talks. Some of my close friends know how I feel and are OK with it and understand.

  I have to agree with 144...

  Mulan had stated:

  their hard earned money is used to attempt to discredit someone like Bill, who is helping victims of a convicted pedophile. Why are they still defending this creep?

  I think 144's point is that they are not using donations to discredit Bill so much as they are using them to defend themselves legally to avoid losing a much larger amount of donations. I see nothing wrong with this.

  I do think that the WT is more concerned with legalities and covering their own hides rather than doing the right thing which is what you would hope "God's Organization" would do. But I do think the initial posted comments of Bill are sensationalized to draw on already bitter attitudes towards the WT.

  The WT are not paying to defend Berry, but to defend themselves.

  I don't know much about this case, so I could be way off mark here, but is the victim also sueing the mother for not reporting to the police or getting professional help for her daughter? It seems to me the mother has greater duty and responsibilty to do this than the elders. And if you are going to sue the elders and their authorities, it only seems right that you sue the mother as well.

  I think there was faking. Like how the wheels slowly went up the ramp.

  That was incredible! One of the articles said that nothing was faked, for instance, the wheels were weighted to that the slightest touch made them roll forward and even upward.

  this is difficult for the boer family as this now means.
