  What are some PRO JW sites where...

  I believe the society has a blanket policy on not responding to news programs like that without some guarantee on editing. Since news programs will never give that guarantee, the WT will not participate because they don't want their interview to be edited so as to misrepresent. This is completely understandable, given the media's history of doing this. However, on a sensitive issue like this, I'm not sure if a "no answer" is better than a chopped up, edited answer. It would be really nice to see a press release on their site stating what their plans are with the current policy of not reporting and not ENCOURAGING witnesses to report.

  HERE'S WHAT JW ELDERS DO TO LITTLE GIRLS

  they question her, in private, all alone with her.... then the questioning keeps breaking down the little girl, so she crys, and they watch, making her describe every detail of the sex act......while she crys..... they want more exact details of where here tounge was............. while she crys....... then they go to a room for 5 min and come back and tell her she doesn't have 2 witnesses, and that she should just keep quite about the matter.. and if she says anything about the matter at all, she will be punished........."then"... she has to go "home" and face "daddy" the "petophile"...... daddy is kind of mad.... do you get the picture yet????????????????????????????????????.

  meanwhile daddy is asked to give a part on the assembly.. and little girl has learned to not tell-on daddy........ever again, or she might "die".

  And to add,
  I don't doubt any stories on the SL site, but I don't think he's gonna post any "My elder body was very helpful and helped me in this time of need." That would kind of defeat his purpose wouldn't it? I don't doubt that atrocities happen in the JW organization, and I am whole hearedly hoping for a change in JW policy to report all cases to the authorities. But I think it foolish to try and generalize all elders into the category that this thread attempts.

  You are right, I'm sure most elder bodies, when approached with a suspected child molestation, will take the supposed victim alone into a room, so they can ask question after question to satisfy their own sexual curiosity, with absolutely no feelings for the child but only thinking how to get rid of the situation.
  The question her to the point of crying (because that's their favorite part!) and then leave her hanging for 5 minutes just to tell her "Sorry, no witnesses." And they conclude with "Oh yeah, if you tell anyone else this, you will DIE!"

  That is the picture you seem to attempt to portray in the initial post, albeit through semantic implications.

  Get real. If that is the way you feel the majority of elder bodies act, then you are more brainwashed than a die hard JW.

  The Elders for sure know about Dateline

  had a long instant message conversation with an elder's wife who knew all about the upcoming dateline show.

  they word is being spread that all who appear on dateline have already been df'd.

  she then called bill an apostate and said he was forced out as elder.

  I had about 30 people over last night and several others brought up the Dateline show. Everyone's immediate response was a little uncertain, but after I explained the current policy on not reporting in most states they all agreed and hoped that the show would create some changes. I think they all had planned on watching it, even before we discussed it.

  you remember the beatings of little children in the lady's room, don't you???....remember the screaming of the little children????

  No, I don't. Except for a select few mom's when I was younger. But bad parents are to be expected in any group of people.

  Although I don't doubt the events in your initial post have happened, I do read this as a dramatization. This can hardly be a generalization of elders and, I would guess, is not even a large minority.

  WTS Controls Who JWs Can Help

  please correct me if i'm wrong, anyone.. i've noticed, as well as many of you on this forum probably, that jws are more than willing to come here and stick up for their cult, but where is their compassion for those that are grieving?

  where is your joy for those that have had a major triumph or 'blessing' in their life?.

  are you jws so programmed by the wts that you can't show empathy or sympathy for a fellow human being?

  This is an interesting topic. I find a contradiction in the direction of the WT and the way the average JW acts. I remember articles talking about helping others, but of course, it was always emphasized that the Good News of the Kingdom should be a priority at all times. This being an attempt at following Christ example, which I see no problem with for someone who is adament about following the Bible. The problem is, most JWs equate that to mean, if it doesn't involve the good news, I don't need to bother with it. This is not, of course, all witnesses, but many.

  About them going to weddings and funerals, I can full understand their concern about mixing with other forms of worship. If a Catholic said they couldn't go to a function in a KH because they felt it was a false religion, I would equally understand that.

  run to the local news papers to BRAG about how GREAT he was for helping that man, like the JWs always do?

  I don't know if I agree with this as I can't recall any examples. Do you have any examples to base this on?

  Michael Savage is the Conservative equivalent of Howard Stern. He says thing for shock value and ratings and is full of himself. He is entertaining to listen to though, but not for long as I get tired of him going on about how smart he is.

  Nice essay. I agree. Yet I also realize that any group of people are usually defined by the vocal minority, so the environment on any Discussion Board can change on a monthly basis, depending on who is vocal.

  But what is this bit about "warring boards?" That is ridiculous! Why would someone have loyalty to a "board?" If this or any board makes up your social ring, then you might want to consider getting out of the house a bit more. Get attached to people, not to forums.
