Do you agree that the reason the US invaded Iraq was because he has WMD and was a clear and present danger to the US with the ability to attack us? If not, what was the reason?

Next...if you agree with the above...do you still HONESTLY believe that Saddam had WMD that posed a clear and present danger to the US and that they are yet to be found?

Before patting ourselves on the back for removing an evil dictator...what about all the times that the US has helped install an evil dictator? Where were all the patriotic US "voices of reason" then?

it is supposed to be that all vehicles belonging to the wt are registered under the name: "kingdom support services.

Holy smokes!!!! Perhaps Tim Betz is working for the WT to amass a fleet of luxury planes as those depicted so that JWs can take over the competitive world of sport fishing!!!!! From there, who knows what they could accomplish next. Unstoppable!!!!!!!

Curiously now I meet up with people who do "pioneer hours" yet don't report them! They just do it for what's in their hearts. How much better!

Interesting...I recently argued with a JW friend about the problems with titles like "Pioneer." He (who has never probably done more than 20 hours in a month) thinks that it is a good motivation to sign up as a pioneer and it helps you reach your goal. I agreed with him but told him the only way it helps you reach your goal is because of the fear of man and trying to please those who know you are a pioneer. If you really want to do it for Jehovah you should be able to make a personal vow to him and just put the time in. He disagreed but would not give a reason why...hmmmm

Yes, weak people do become JWs. But so do strong people, smart people, dumb people, gullible people, skeptical people. There are lots of reasons why people become JWs. And anyone who tries to generalize 6 million people must be retarded.

Overseer Visits

what the hell is the big deal about the circuit overseer's visit?

why does everyone have to drag their bible students and in active friends and family members to the meeting during that week?.

it is so lame and hypocritical.

The other thing that cracked me up was towards the end of my active JW ism, I wasn't going out in service at all and not turning in time. Never heard anything from the elders about it until a couple weeks before CO visit I would get a message on the answering machine saying they needed my time for the last 6 months. This happened twice, the first time he pinned me and I made up some numbers. The second time I was able to avoid him until after the CO visit with the hope that the CO would ask why I was inactive and what they have done to help.....and get a blank stare in return (or a lie.)

WHY DO NEWSPAPER ARTICLES ALWAYS REFER TO ......

the persons mentioned, in their articles as "a member of the jehovah's witnesses" or a jehovah's witness, when reporting ?.

i noticed this again in blondie's latest thread, "about women dies in blaze".

it seems to happen a lot, and for no apparent reeason, especially when the point about being a jw really has nothing to do with the relevance of the news story?.

Pioneer/Bethel for 6 years. Not sure what you can tell her, each person is going to have different things that trigger their questions. Maybe ask her how sure she is about everything they teach and whether or not they could be wrong. Ask her if she feels she ever gets up in the morning to go out in service because she feels she has to or because she loves Jehovah. If she ever feels she does it because she has to then ask her if she thinks the "fear of man" or doing what others around her say is right might be a motive. In the end for me, all it took was for me to study the bible on its own and research every question scripture by scripture using both WT books and non-WT books (mainly religous history and biblical history books.)

i attended a notorious congregation as a child, the infamous winter gardens congregation!

my cousin and his best friend, both named joe, were elders, my cousin was the po and the other joe was a total loser suck up who wanted to be just like my cousin, joe.

what was even funnier, as i get off point a bit, is that "suck up" joe's wife, cathy, did everything she could do to get her pudgy lil self to dress, look, walk, and talk like my cousin joe's wife, clementine.

She decided to bring the guy to the Memorial with her, and one of the elders tackled him outside after it was over--

That's RAD!!! I wish we had fights at our memorials!!!

Wow SS! At least your CO was somewhat on the ball getting after your elders.

Then, instead of the CO working with the pioneers, he'd assign his wife MAYBE, or worse he'd have you work with the never-outs. He'd work with the elders and his wife with the elders wives.

That drove me crazy too! I never made a concerted effort to work with the CO, but you would think he would either search out the spiritual weak or work with those who do the majority of the preaching work...not the elders who maybe go out a couple hours on Saturday. I didn't really personally care, but it bothered me that these spitiual leaders weren't doing what they should be doing.
