  What is your favorite Memory?

  i hope this has not been a topic lately.... it was christmas day...and i had went to visit some non-jw relatives i was 15 yrs old...and a group of other kids from the neighborhood had all got together on the block, it was snowing and the snow was so fluffy and pretty, so we all started walking down the street singing x-mas songs (we had sipped some spiked egg nog) everyone exchanged little gifts.

  we went to different houses visiting and eating.

  toward the end of the night we went to my sister's friend house and danced till around 2:00 in the morning..." for the first time in my life i felt free and happy.

  I got to ride on the trampoline part of a catamaran from Lahaina Maui to the island of Lania once. I lied down the whole way and enjoyed every single micro second of the trip. My poor friend was totally sea sick and barfing off the side/back of the boat both ways and while I felt sooooo sorry for her I just could not miss this golden oppurtunity. A young girl was a little scared to ride up in front on the tramp, so I talked to her about it and her mom sat right next to her and she lied down for the trip back and I know it will be one of her best memories too.

  I also have given birth to 4 wonderful daughters and those were the best memories also...but the boat trip was magical.

  What have you discovered on the journey?

  the journey being life, what have you discovered that you never expected to... could be a musician, actor, a movie, a type of food, a thought, a realisation, a religion, a thing about your personality or an emotion, a particular song... it could be anything really.... what have you discovered?

  I have learned... that it really is a journey.

  That being in control is only an illusion.

  That having my children and watching them become adults is miraculous and wonderful.

  That what lies ahead of me is only limited by me.

  That we are all just human beings with ALL of the same limitations.

  That I do have valuable life experience to share with others.

  That laughter is very important.

  That I just need to hang on tight and take the plunge that is life!!!

  Is Organized Religion Something You'd Be Involved In Again?

  This question is something I struggle with alot. I have a 6 year old daughter that , because we stopped going to meetings when she was 1 or so, has never had any organized religious training. I won't say spiritual training because we talk and share things of a spiritual nature all the time. She is full of questions. Do I miss going to all those meetings every week? NO! Do I feel spiritually unfed? NO! But the sense of community that I once embraced is lacking. I was not raised in the "truth" so my family and friends have not disappeared as some others have experienced and I enjoy meeting and making new friends...but once upon a time I had a supportive spiritual family. I realize being a JW came into my life when I was a vulnerable young new mom and wife and it filled a space. I know there were always things that I did not agree with and behaviors that I knew were wrong. It just took me and my husband 20 years to be able to let go of it. None of our 3 older daughters who were raised going to meetings have decided that it was for them either.

  To answer your question... No,I will never be involved with an organized religion again.While I do believe in "god" I don't believe in the humanizing of said "god".There are too many questions that absolutely NO human can answer, and that's ok with me. What I try to be is the best human,wife,mom,friend,daughter,sister I can be.I've only got one chance at this I figure.

  Do you feel damned?

  You know , in a strange way I feel that our very limited understanding of who god really is ( or what he is ) makes us feel damned or not. I think there is more to life than living on earth and that it is all a jouney of discovery. If my actions while on earth determine my favor with god then so be it...I take full responsibility.

  I remember the association issues with much contempt. There totally were cliques that some felt they must be a part of and when they were not included they just fell apart. When I first started going to meetings we had 2 babies and there were many families with small ones , but as they grew older and I did not follow the rigid parenting of others I knew that was going to be a problem. I know that when we stopped going to meetings the "LOVE" between the brothers was void - totally! I appreciate so much now having friends that I care about and visa/versa. Chosing to go back to the kingdom hall and pretending to have brotherly love is my worst nightmare..

  i just want to say a huge thank-you for all your kind wishes and songs.

  it really made my day.

  i ended up going to an organic earthworm composting seminar this afternoon and pruned my roses this morning and all my older daughters watched the 4 year old for the whole day and cake is tonight.yippee!!!!!!.

  don't mean to toot my own horn but this year i will be 44 and i feel great!!!

  two of my daughters tried baking my cake today and burned both of them....soooo funny!!

  i also like things that have to do with double numbers etc...my husband says i am strange.
