i know that most JW's think that if you piss off the organization you piss off god. my g/f for instance thought that the words of the elders was god's spoken words until i straightened her out. i used to think that way too ( a long long time ago when i was a good little dubby kid), until i realized one day that God wasn't going to rip my balls off for making mistakes. Silly rabbit, tricks are for kids!

Do JWs fear God or the organization? Can they distinguish between the two?
by somebodylovesme ini bring this up because i was just thinking about some crap i went through with my jw in-laws awhile back -- when i was marrying their son and we were desperately trying to figure out a way to do a wedding without him getting disfellowshipped.
the things i heard them say (their objections) seemed framed by what the elders would say, how it would look to the congregation, their privileges, etc.
i don't remember ever hearing them say that anything would displease jehovah.

even some people that commented said that 90 years of the 120 years have passed by and we should be prepared for the time at hand.

iono, because right now the GB members (most of them that are actually of the 1914 generation) are roughly 90 years old this year (give or take a few years) i give them another 5-10 before they all keel off, then see whats going to happen....but i gotta hop onto the "do more till '34" bandwagon, thats a good one =D

just for a hint of the situation, i am going with a bunch of cheapskates, we are staying in cheap motels, and i can't go to a yankee's game because we have a packed schedule of JW tourism. worth going to see bethel and ask them a few questions?

oh, and they'll start getting mad that you don't accept that god has had a government in place all throughout time. its quite funny actually because moses didnt' have a government, he just had law to convey then he was done. israelites lived in peace for 350 years ( i tink it was the israelites ) without any direction from anybody. i have a report somewhere that i need to post, because its acutally kinda helpful.

i found that link interesting, but i don't know how true it is because i only browsed over it. but, the big point is that if we could actually calculate the return of jesus thru an equation, then we should be able to gain answer any other technological question for anything else in the world........
