More "new light"? Has anyone got the July 15th WT yet?
by slimboyfat ini hear there is more "new light" in this magazine.
nothing as big as the "generation" change or scrapping 1935 for the annointed.
it might be something to do with some of jesus' parables.

The only thing I have is this reference on a JW message board.
"And now, having just studied that article we have just received the WT July 15 which contains a refined understanding of Jesus' illustrations of the "dragnet" and the Kingdom of the heavens being like a "mustard seed" and "leaven". These again contain dramatic changes in understanding of these illustrations of Jesus." -

What if they are about to "close the ark door"?
by Mickey mouse inwe know the book study is about to be cut.
i am reading talk here of the preaching work being declared "over" and possible changes in disfellowshipping policy.. we know the wbts is running low on funds.
they don't make money from the literature and the new recruits are going straight back out of the revolving door.

Reminds me of the Telephone Sanitizers. Maybe we should just wave goodbye and launch the ark on its way.

*********** We love baseball******************
by FlyingHighNow inthis is a baseball tribute thread.
please post anything and everything about baseball memories, the game, your favorite team, players opinions on the designated hitter rule.
baseball brings back the magical feelings of childhood and tagging along with my older siblings to the little league games played at the parks my mother worked when she was the art director for mobile parks and recreation.

"It is orderly, but not reserved like Cricket"
It can get lively at times. -

"Here there is a whole romance and atmosphere that comes with baseball"
I don't think the rock music would go down too well not with traditional cricket anyway but Baseball obviously evokes similar feelings as Cricket does over here. If I ever get to America I think I will have take in a live game. -

"A major league game with 9 innings can go on up to three or more hours. The length depends on many factors. And if the game is tied at the end of 9th inning, the game goes into extra innings. This can be a lot of fun when you are actually at the game. I never want to go home."
Interesting, I liked the clip. Have you guys heard anything about Twenty20 Cricket yet? You know how our game of Cricket goes on for about 5 days and because of this is a bit of a cumbersome beast to export and commercialize. Well Twenty20 Cricket is an alternative to this and is proving very popular (Not with the purists though) It also is about 3 hours long so is obviously designed along the commercial lines of baseball. A multi million pound league has just been established in India with plans for world domination I'm sure.

We don't get any coverage about it over here in the UK (Maybe some stuff in the middle of the night) but I think it looks like a good game. Just out of interest how long does the average game last?

Meeting schedule rearranged...WHY?
by sir82 inofficial speculation thread.... even if a reason is given for the meeting rearrangement when it is announced on 4/27, we all know how the society spins things (e.g., awake magazine being reduced to one issue per month to "put more emphasis on the bible" real reason.. .
so why is the society doing this?
on the surface, it seems to be a loosening of control.

Could there be a health & safety issue with meeting in homes? Maybe they have to take on extra insurance for a public meeting in a private home, or something like that.

Youtube Apostasy!?
by DT inhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnnopujqb04.
i'm not sure if this really a jehovah's witness or just someone trying to make them look bad.
notice his facial expressions as he warns about apostates.

I think this guy is for real in what he is saying. It's intersting however that he is warning people to stay away from people pretending to be JW's and not those who are openly non-JW. How many apostates pretend to be JW?

Indian food is so easy to make yourself but does require a bit of expenditure on the spice front at first but then your away.
