I have not extensively travelled but would have to say Turkey so far, lots of history and really nice people.

What's your favourite country you've visited?
by lfcviking inmine is australia.
the's so much to do there, the climate is so warm, the wildlife there is so vast & interesting, you can scuba dive the great barrier reef, there's so many cool beaches and overall it seems quite civilised.
i'd love to go back there again for another jolliday.. what's yours?.

England is a great place, we all moan about it and despair about it going to the dogs but that's our way of trying to protect this great country.
I would recommend Devon& Cornwall I lived there not so long ago and would move back if I could - its beautiful. Where in Devon? Dartmoor, a place of mystery, beauty and intrigue. Other places to visit there are Clovelly in north Devon - a bit of a tourist trap but breathtaking. Torquay- The English Riviera & home to Agnatha Christie, A little past its heyday but plenty to do there. I Don't know Cornwall quite so well, it has a rugged beauty of its own and is at its best along its coastline. One place I am personally keen to visit is the Scilly isles of the coast of Cornwall. England's sub-tropical paradise.
I would recommend London - Simply one of the best cities in the world.
There are plenty of other places throughout the UK to recommend, it all depends on what you want and what your interests are

I need some input (Migraines)
by Tired of the Hypocrisy indoes anyone know of any documented proof that long hair causes migraine headaches?.
the reason i ask is because my 16 year old son has this head full of curls.
he also has what we believe to be bad migraines.

"There are some good people on this board, and then there are some rotten ones who chose to belittle me due to their prejudices.. "
That is life, not everyone is going to like you. I work on the basis that most people will think I'm an idiot, much less disappointment that way.

I think I just broke the tele-market man
by whitman inwell, today is one of those procrastinatey days, i'm at home alone with the cat who is dazzling me with her new tricks.
so i got pretty excited when the tele-marketer man called to discuss a new and fantastic mobile phone deal.
i managed to keep him on the phone for 32 minutes as i explained to him that i could only use a blue telephone due to a specific type of colour blindness that i have....which i do not have.... turns out they just don't make blue phones.

The Place For Demons To Rejoice...
by justhuman init was many years ago, it was around 1990, and we had a visit of the c.o.
and a young one asks the co if he can attend to wedding ceremony of a relative that is no witness.. the co said with a kind of superior look to us:" what does a christian doing in a christendom's church(and in our case was the orthodox) were demons are dancing and rejoice during the ceremony.
it is not a place for a christian.

I went to many a family wedding and funeral while I was a witness. I even stood up and sang the songs. My mum never made an issue of it, she is a very staunch JW but she has the ability to gloss over the things she obviously doesn't agree with. I am a perfectionist and found this approach impossible, so always felt guilty. Don't remember any dancing Demons though.

BBQ Advice
by Peppermint infor many years i have held bbq's in derision.
i am not one for social norms and have a general fear of succumbing to pleasant suburban society.
maybe i harbour this dislike because a jw once told me that he imagines the new system as a never ending bbq.

"By the way, a technical point: these things are really GRILLS, not BBQs. Real BBQ requires "low and slow" cooking with a fire box that is generally not beneath the cooking food."
" Use hickory, keep it low and slow, and smoke for at least 4 hours at about 225, that's BBQ"
I see. Here in the UK rightly or wrongly they are all called BBQs

i cant believe what i thought would happen actually happened..
by chellechelle inok so today i met my new psychiatrist.
my old one retired recently and i hadnt seen him in months anyways.. much to the delight of the "edlers"... but i will discuss that later.
i would not mind so much having to go if it werent for the fact that i have to reinterate everything important that ever fappened to me.. great, that is the way to make peoople feel better, bring up all the other horrible shit that happened to them in the past.

Its disturbing how differnt doctors have differnt approaches. I have to visit the hospital every six months to check up on my colitis. I have moved 3 times in the last couple of years so have seen three separate specialists, each one was differnt on drugs, procedures and advice. I have come to the conclusion that I have to be partly responsible for how I manage my treatment and it sounds like you are doing the same.
"anyway, my shrink thinks that this would not work in my case because i dont have the time or some dumb bull such as that.."
Sounds more like she did not have the time - prescriptions are quick!
"I was always told by the elders in my congregation that i should not see a psychiatrist. they will only tell you to do what the world would do"
Whereas elders would say. "follow us we will make you feel good inside but if you doubt what we say you will have to die!"
