I forgot the best part, if these people come around, there is a landslide of about 8 other people that will be a foregone conclusion. So it's not a simple matter of just these persons. They are key to the others.
AND we are friends with all of them.
ok, so we get a call from some friends who looked up to us as "who to be like".
we have been on the fade for, well, a long time now, which is quite a contrast because we were the never miss type.
the last conversation i had with the husband he kind of opened up about how he was having trouble going anymore.

Special K,
You know thats the funny thing. It is VERY encouraging for us to have a share, even if it goes nowhere. It tells us there is hope, there are people still in who are troubled and ARE in fact thinking about the real effect on their life this religion creates. The sad thing is there will always be symbiotic individuals who get something out of the religion. ( what is it when 2 parasites suck the life out of each other? ) These people tend to have little real influence on others though.

WillyLoman,
Thanks for the words of encouragement. My wife and I had a good laugh about "now THATS some 'feild service' time we can put some enthusiasm into!!!!

Simplesally, I/We plan only on asking questions and hearing how they feel. I will let them open the door wide and take a few steps through before I kick their ass down the street and slam the door shut behind them board it up with 2.x4's nails and coat the doorknob with medical waste.
Further, I/We won't talk about specifics with 2 of them in the same room. You know, you have to have 2 or 3 witnesses And if it ever comes up, I'll say "well I don't recall EVER saying that!" Just recall someones post here not too long ago when asked if he had a tape recorder on him he said NO, because he in fact had TWO. Oh how I have learned the devious ways of the world from the Borg.

The best part is they are really genuine people, it would be a great boost to their life to leave the weight of the Borg behind.
What a great opportunity, I just hope we have what it takes to help them out. Time will tell.

We have been on the fade for, well, a long time now, which is quite a contrast because we were the never miss type. The last conversation I had with the husband he kind of opened up about how he was having trouble going anymore. His wife however reminded him of his vow not only to her but also to 'their' god. She made him clearly aware of how she more than expected him to continue regardless of how he was feeling. This was about 8 months ago.
Now I know people can be swayed so when we got the invitation I was wondering if this was an 'intervention' in our behalf. My wife and I had a plan that if there was any other surprise guests she was going to go to the bathroom and call my cell phone from hers with an emergency. This is a fact of our life and although not REAL common, it has been known to happen and we have to beat a hasty retreat.
Well we got there and got me off alone and WANTED TO KNOW WHY WE WERE NOT GOING ANYMORE. I asked him why he wanted to know. He told me about how he was feeling and how the religion was becoming more about zeal and less about Chrisianity. I asked him to explain even though I knew what he meant I wanted to hear his reasoning to get an indication of how far into the process he was. He had really progressed from our last meeting. I asked him if his wife had 'come along' any. He said she had. She also said that it seemed like everyone who 'was normal' was leaving. And I thought about it she's right. In a rather anti climatic way, in this part of the state (with the exception of Euph & Piph ) people are fading in a rather quiet way.
His wife mentioned she wanted to get together with us more often. We are going to proceed cautiously but it appears that she has the feelings that things are wrong but doesn't know the reasons behind her feelings yet. We are MORE than happy to help them both along.
Just for you WT boys reading along, this isn't the first one, and it WON'T be the last. The case against you will only pick up more and more momentum as time goes on. And well I'm afraid it's going to affect book sales and attendance which will mean contributions, TIME TO SELL MORE NY REAL ESTATE!! Just watch out for the tax man.
Sorry JW'D'ers, I couldn't resist. Looks like it's time to give the gift that keeps on giving, another edition of COC.

did you love it?
were you in awe of it?
were you a true believer?
I remember my job got in the way of meetings after I came in. I worked it out to where I would miss the BS only. I remember telling my wife, come on, it's only the bookstudy. She came back at me with the five fingers crap etc. We look back and laugh about it now. I did it all because I KNEW doing it is what kept me 'strong' and moving forward. I liked who I was. I was able to see through the bullshit at least in my own life. I'm very proud to say, I never bowed to ANY politics and always tore a new asshole on whoever needed one, and offered mine up willingly when I was in the wrong. THAT is what I beleive to this day being a Christian is all about. Accountability before your God and Fellowman.
It aint' rocket science WTBS. Play nice with the other kids and share your toys.
