Also, you can make a lot of money in less time which means you work less than the 'average person' for the same amount. A long time ago, I was one of those pioneer window cleaners. I really enjoyed the work though I don't do it anymore along with a lot of other things that have been called stereo typical.

Window Washing-why so common?
by AllAlongTheWatchtower inok, i have been around here long enough to get a basic understanding of most of the jw stuff, even though i have never been one.
one thing that continues to puzzle me though, is the constant references to jws often getting jobs as window washers.
i have seen these types of references on other sites as well as this one, so i have become convinced that it must be pretty (stereo)typical.. why?

Study conductor claims the "WTS is not the FDS"...and other JW affirmations
by M.J. ini am currently following the ongoing saga of a person who is studying to be a jw and her unbelieving husband's attempts to sway her in this endeavor.
he has gotten her to read cofc and she's halfway through it, but nonetheless, she remains bound to the jws and wants to continue her persuit.
he has tried to call into question that the wts could have been appointed by jesus as the "faithful, discreet slave", but the person she is studying with flat out told her that jws do not believe that jesus chose the wts as the fds and, that they don't believe that they are the one chosen religion/church.

She obviously has an unspoken agenda that the Borg is meeting for her. In that case it's much like the parents with high energy kids that keep going to Dr's until someone tells them there is something wrong with their kids and gives them the meds they knew all along they needed. < When actually they didn't, they are just high energy kids and they don't want to accept it.
She is hearing what she wants to hear, and as long as that gets in the way of logic and reason there is nothing you can do about it. Best of luck to you.

I just don't get it
by robhic inmy poor jw girlfriend is in the hospital with some seizures and other related neurological problems.
she is heavily sedated, partially restrained, is generally "out of it", has no attention-span and her short-term memory is about 1-2 minutes sometimes.. now, much to their credit, some from her congregation and even an older elder (is that redundant?
) which, from the horror stories i've read here makes him an exception, visit regularly.

Thats just how it is.
You go someplace where other people who don't read the magazines, might, Juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust might, and you leave them. Who knows, you could save the life of a janitor who comes in to dump the trash in that room and happens to read them. No wait, ... the janitor would already be saved because he would BE a JW already working the night janitor shift so he could pioneer during the day and place more magazines in other places since the hospital is already covered by the "older elder".

by qwerty injust borrowed a wtcd from a friend................ i carn't believe a "non" profit organisation can do this or rather put restrictions on the the coping of the wt cdrom.
isn't there literature distributed free?
then why is make the copying of the wt library for the benefit of declaring the "truth" wrong!

Mulan has a new grandson!
by Princess inmy brother's wife gave birth this afternoon to a 5lb 7oz baby boy.
he was five weeks early (we knew he would be a preemie) and both mom and baby are well.
it's quite a relief really.

They found out we celebrated Christmas
by Mulan ini was told today that an elder in a nearby congregation has just told another elder in his congregation that he saw we celebrated christmas last year.
seems he was doing a job on our street (he's a window washer, like all good jw elders) and saw our decorations.. several things bother me about that.. 1. no one could have seen any of our decorations by driving by.
we had no lights outside.

Consider yourself lucky. Too bad you didn't wait until the "new light" on holidays. While they mention birthdays ( July 8, 04 ) in the question they Borg doesn't reference it in their answer. It's all a conscience matter now, "how is it veiwed today?" I think it's pretty hard to prove the Xmas tree or any other decorations for that matter are tied to any old Norse gods. They have become American traditions in and of themselves.
