  constant fear I can not get rid of

  i have this fascination with holocaust stuff, the memorial, movies like shindlers list, the history channels programs they have.

  last night i watched the pianist.

  it was an incredible movie.

  what is the stupidest thing a jw ever told you?

  we all know that they say a lot of stupid things, but what really topped the cake?.

  for me, it was an elder telling me i was progressing really well when my meeting attendance was down and my field service hours were slipping.

  I was told that I would be sick wether I was home in bed or at the KH. So if I choose to stay home instead of coming to the KH, I obviously was not a good JW.

  What's the most ridiculous thing you were ever counselled on?

  one of the cornerstones of jw's is counsel.

  they just love to give counsel and many times they will literally make things up just for the sake of counsel.

  i was once counselled for joking around too much.

  I questioned why some people who came for visits to our congregation talked about watching R rated movies and why I could not. Please do not blast me for what I am about to say, I am only telling you what the elder told me. He said "some" of the other congregations (i.e. black and spanish) were more lax and that they couldn't be expected to know any better. I kid you not. When I questioned it again to another elder I basically got the answer that I knew it was wrong so don't do it, and don't worry about other people. I was basically made to feel guilty for asking.

  Also, I got it for saying Jez (as in "Jez, I almost stayed a witness") in a talk. I was told that it's a shortened form of Jesus Christ. News to me.
