my dad and i spoke over lunch the other day about our religion.
he told me that he bumped into two of my cousins who are pioneers at the auburn congregation..he told them he was disapointed and was not invited to their party...after he told me his conversation with them he repeatedly kept on saying "the truth".
i finally corrected him and told him that was one of the ways to suppress him buy using words like that to inflict guilt and that there is no other truth when there is.
...the truth they call it. But their truth changes. Yesterday's truth is not the same as today's truth. And tomorrow's truth might yet be different from todays....
The truth is, that the truth does not change, Watchtower rules and regulations and their view of Bible prophecies do.
hi.. i was reading another post about asking for your personal files.
i was wondering if anyone knew if the society send copies of letters you have sent to them to your congregation.. i recently sent them a letter asking about the old information about the 1914 generation on their website.. i received a letter back from them that didn't answer the question (what's new) but was more a slap on the wrist for even deigning to ask.
i was directed to a couple of articles about the apreciation and good use of older publications and told that older light had to be taken into regard with newer light and that older books still have their worth as long as we use newer ones as well.... talk about confusing.. anyway, i was wondering if they would send the elders in my congregation a copy of my letter to them?.
I had talked to elders and CO about the UN and they said to write the Society. I did, and got a letter in reply that did not answer any questions, but gave more excuses about the library. So I called over there and after being passed fronm one person to the other I finally got to speak to a brother who gave the same excuses and asked if I would rather believe one of Jehovah's servants or anyone the the UN or Dag Hammerskjoeld Library.....anyways, they said they did not keep any correspondence between them and the UN that would prove that they had to register and the person that told them that they had to, probably no longer works there, plus they could not remember what it was that supposedly changed in the applications for registering, after all these years......
So it is just more excuses and more lies to cover the other lies.....
How sad. But what is more sad is that I always hear "we cannot expect perfection" and "wait on Jehovah"

not sure from reading coc.. was alternative service an option available to jw's in malawi instead of purchasing a political party card or was this only an issue in countries where military service was mandatory?.
wondering if countries like korea offer alternative service to jail time seeing it is now considered a conscience matter?
how can one proof that the brothers in Malawi did not act out of their own will. Where can I find proof that the Watchtower Society said that they could not obtain an ID card?
And, does anybody know where to find info regarding the "cartilla" that mexican Brothers obtain by bribing officilas?

I found lots of information on a german website. I e-mailed the UN directly at [email protected] and after about 8 days I received an e-mail from them. They sent the letter that they have been sending to all who inquire about this. It is generic letter, but it came from the UN and was sent directly to me.
