JIG...we are all under sin and God's wrath. The law cannot save anyone. However God has made a way to receive forgiveness, to be cleansed from sin, to be washed in the blood of the lamb (Messiah) who took the sins of the world upon Himself.

What a Great Deal ! Unless you were one of the billions of A&E's children who had to 'pay' for the 'sins' of A & E !

Well, JIG, it sounds like you're fixin' to bug out of this conversation. Are you ? I tried to get you to think and talk about some of the really awful gory bloodletting your god wrote about in His autobiography. Apparently, those deaths are too upsetting (understandable) to you ...or it's not even significant enough to discuss ? I'll bet it meant a lot to the folks being murdered by your god. But, I like nvrgnbk's very simple, sharp, pointed question, so much, I'll repeat it:

MY DAD MIGHT DIE DUE TO THE 'NO BLOOD' DOCTRINE

i don't have much time to post as i'm headed back to the hospital, but my father collapsed this morning and had to be rushed to the hospital.

in a nutshell: he needs a blood transfusion as his hemoglobin is dropping (bleeding internally), but thanks to this fucking cult, that's not an option...........he'll accept the fractions but those bastards from the blood liaison committee have already shown up to ensure he doesn't cave............... for those of you who still believe, i'm asking you to say a prayer for my dad........and if anyone from crooklyn is reading this: you better hope my father doesn't die due to your fucked up rules, .

It was an accident. Period. Doctor's & nurses who have all that fancy training make serious errors with meds everyday. It's human error.

Please contrast that with the action of the HLC elders...their action was purposeful, no matter that they sincerely believe they are doing the right thing. JW's never seem to have any feelings of guilt over letting their loved ones die. My JW siblings are proud of their role in my mother's death. I'm the one with the guilt, because I wasn't able to stop it. There's a lot of us here in that boat.

I guess your mind is made up already. I would disagree though.

Nope, my mind used to be 'made up', as a JW, now I'm happily able to say I'm agnostic. I don't know.

If it hadnt been A&E it would have been Jack & Jill who would have eaten. I mean you can makeup whatever hypothesis or alternative solution. Would God not have known best? God being omniscient, knowing the future also before it happens, did He somehow not know what is best?

So-o...your god knew whatever mom & pop couple He created...would fail. He would also know, He would condemn all of their descendants to imperfection, disease, famine, war, death... Hmmm....the Almighty All-knowing God of Love knew he'd get a front row seat... watching almost all living things gasp for air, terrified, as they drowned in Noah's day. Why kill innocent people and animals ? Being All-Powerful...can't He execute babies, moms & dads... selectively ? He knew mankind would screw up again...and He'd get have another BIG bloodletting party after the 2nd coming of Jesus.

What a guy ! Well, Father knows best, eh ?? I'll bet...like faithful JW's...you just can't wait for the slaughter to begin.

And why do you think its a lie that A&E dying in that day they ate the forbidden fruit? Why do you call it a lie? Because you don't believe it or they didn't age then die? Also tell me why you think they didn't know about death coming to all their descendants? Are you assuming this or are you reading a passage of the Bible?

It's a lie, because, they lived on for hundreds of years. Apparently, your god likes to slaughter a lot of people at once, so he has to build up the population first.

I'm not assuming any such thing. Gen. 2:17 clearly states that Adam "...in that day would die...". That day & only Adam. So, what are you assuming ?

First, God bringing judgment on all Adam and Eve's descendents isn't entirely accurate. Why? If God brought judgment on all of us we would all be going to hell, we'd all be eternally separated from God. So God's judgment against every human being for sin isn't completely accurate.

Use your smoke screen somewhere else. You know I was talking about the immediate result of their punishment. God was the judge, prosecutor & jury. His warning to Adam & Eve, about dying "in the day" they ate the fruit, was a lie. The 2nd lie was Adam & Eve weren't told that it wasn't just them, as the guilty party, that would get punished, get sick & die, but, every man, woman & child since then.

Two, let me sum up your second point. "God created evil humanity or evil but judges us for our evil. This is unloving and sick." I see a problem or misconception about humanity, God and evil in your question. Please don't take this to heart.

Please allow me to sum up my own points. If A & E were perfect they had a much bigger advantage over any of their offspring...and they failed a simple 'Fruit Stealing' test. God, imho, has proved His own evil by his murderous rages throughout the history of His Book. It also says, He drowned almost every living thing in Noah's day. Now, He's planning on an even bigger bloodbath in the future. This god is blood thirsty. You think He'll feel "regret" and say He'll "never do it again" like He did after the Flood ?

Here is my idea of what would have been a lot fairer to the folks who never had a chance to take the infamous "Fruit" test: Adam & Eve could have been executed, then, God could have created Ricky & Lucy, if they messed up...Will & Grace...etc. That way billions of people who weren't perfect or in a paradise could take their very own "Fruit" test, instead of being punished for something they had no part of -- that's what innocent means.

When God confronted Adam about eating the forbidden fruit, "Why have you done this?" He played the blame game and blamed his wife. Then Eve played along and blamed the serpent. Who's fault was it in the garden? Adam and Eve's! Are you going to continue playing this blame game also? Has anyone made you lie? Steal? Not love God? Not love your fellow man made in God's image? Blame yourself.

You've probably forgotten...I don't accept the Bible or any other writings as a gods 'word'. Therefore, I do assign all blame to myself, if I harm another person thru my own actions. I don't need a god to do that.

Dorsey Griffith, a medical writer for the Bee, states that Gregory Brown, a representative from the Jehovah's Witnesses Hospital Liaison Committee, approved the use of the oxygen-carrying solution that was transfused into the patient, Jose Orduño.

I may have had something confused...wasn't there a press release in 1999, from the Sacramento Bee or some other California newspaper, that said hemoglobin was OK as a 'conscience matter' ?

JesusIsGod...I am so glad the voices you heard in your head made you feel so "Special." A regular "church lady." It must be a "special" feeling indeed to have all those terrible 'sins' lifted from your shoulders. Good for you. I would imagine the terrible guilt you were carrying was a terrible burden. That would be awful on your mental health.

I am sincerely glad you are feeling 'much better now.'

After believing the Bible as a JW for over 35 years, then leaving, I have no belief that the Bible is God's word. But, you do and I respect that you have that right.

So, answer me this: Assuming the Bible IS God's Word...why did He think it was justice to punish all the descendants (that would be us) of Adam & Eve...for their 'sins' ?

Whatever 'sinful' condition you think humans are in right now, are the result of GOD'S DOING ! When Adam & Eve were chased out of Paradise...something obviously had to change in their 'perfect' DNA in order for 'us' to result. GOD...is responsible for all of the human condition, imperfection, sickness and death. No matter how much you will want to blame Satan or Adam & Eve...GOD (according to your Bible) was the judge, who past judgment and punished billions of innocent people for the actions of their fruit stealing ancestors.

There's something very sick & un-loving about a human or even a god... that would punish innocent people.

However, the full influence of the religion has not left me entirely, because I actually felt a tad guilty for a moment for the plasma he received. (how dumb is that?)
The nurse said to me " Don't you dare feel guilty. I'm glad you said we could give it to him because I'm telling you right now, with the way he's bleeding, he would have died without it."

I am SO happy you were there at the right time for your Dad. I'll 2nd the nurse's words, " Don't you dare feel guilty."

I had flashbacks to when my mom died over this issue, when I got to page 3 and saw your good news...I just said, "YES!" to myself. The WT missed this sacrifice. Good for you !
