Feeling numb... feeling like I did when I first DAed.

my dad recently told all the kids that he has terminal cancer.

he is going to die... could be in a month... could be in a year.. all the kids recently visited my parents over last weekend.

i was allowed to come too due to the "family business" clause in the wts rules.. yesterday i cried... i'm still crying a bit today and am feeling numb.

Our quiet, empathetic thoughts are with you. You'd think at this very sobering 'fork in the road' in your parent's life...they would/could see what a terrible waste of time and love...it has been following the WT corporations by-laws. I truly hope this shakes their faith.

I have to deal with shunning issues from my own children and other JW's, too. It's a one-day-at-a-time endeavor, my friend. Some days are just a lot worse. Recently, I was rushed to a hospital emergency room, very sick. My sweet wife called around to inform relatives, including one of my kids -- there was no return calls from any witnesses.

It's just so damn sad. And, I feel so sorry for you, me and all of us who've been touched by this inhumanity the JW's accept as love. Sickness and death tho'...sometimes has the power to pry open the skulls of the toughest nuts. The fact that they did call and allow their son's presence...maybe...is a hopeful sign.

I tend to shut down, too. Ms. Rabbit won't let me do that too much. Rely on people who are reliable...and I hope you and your family the best.

soft sentences for child killers has sparked prison protest plans.. around 100 people are expected to turn up at the demonstration outside low newton prison in county durham, where notorious inmate tracey connelly has been caged for her part in the death of her son, baby p.. the protest by the abused babies and children (abc) foundation was prompted by revelations connelly, her boyfriend steven barker and his brother jason owen have launched appeal bids against their sentences.. peter connelly, baby ps real name, died after suffering months of abuse.. haringey social services, doctors and the metropolitan police all failed to remove him from his mothers care despite evidence he was being abused.. tracey was ordered to be held indefinitely a minimum of five years after pleading guilty to a charge of causing or allowing the death of a child or vulnerable person and was transferred to low newton prison after receiving death threats in styals womens prison, cheshire.. as it emerged connelly had lodged an appeal, the abc foundations organiser mandy francis, 52, said: we were disgusted with the sentences handed out to these killers and then they decided to add insult to injury by appealing against their sentences.. we want to help get peter the justice he deserves and for the government to realise that people are fed up with the paltry sentences handed out by the courts in cases like this.

life should mean life.. the abc foundation, who will stage their protest on october 4, are also furious connelly, barker and owen could be given new identities for their protection.. barker, who was also convicted of raping a two-year-old girl, was jailed for life with a minimum of 10 years for the rape and a 12-year sentence for peters death.

How many people in prison are JW's?

i've been reading the topic about how garrido met his wife while in prison, and the discussion about how prison inmates are preached to by jw's.. has anyone done any research into how many people claiming to be jw's there are in prison?

in the uk it should be quite easy to find out because of the freedom of information act.

it could even be broken down to how many are in dispersal prisons (and so for much more serious offences), and how many are covered by rule 43 (segregated for their own protection), and how this measures as a total of the prison population.. the last time i looked it up, there was 1 jw to approx 300 people in the uk.

My Step-Son Called at 2 AM and Threaten Physical Harm

last night he called at 2 am, woke my wife up, she answered the phone.

he was drunk, yelling and threatening to break into our house and physically harm me because i had his sorry ass thrown out for punching my stomach and destroyed our property while drunk on that day on july 8th.. she hit the flasher button (strobe light attached to a remote thingy that is activated by a remote button) and woke me up.

i go to her room and find her crying.

PIR refers to 'passive infrared', as in a motion detector that can be used in alarm systems and built-in or added to floodlights. Any good hardware store carries these for around $25 or so. Replacement of those on the outside are easy, including porch lights. There are also PIR light switches for inside lights, too.

The best deterrent is an Alarm System. You can get a basic one, doors & interior motions fairly inexpensively. Much better is a complete system...ALL doors, windows, motions, sirens in/out, portable RF (radio freq.) panic buttons - handheld & pendant types. Go with what your budget can stand. Even buying Alarm System stickers/signs give a measure of protection. Make sure to advertise to your step-son that you've installed a "Top Notch" system -- inside and out. Mention the infrared camera system, too. What he can be lead to believe WILL protect you and your wife.

Incidentally, my own no-good, meth addicted stepson threatened to beat up his own gentle mother a few weeks ago. Me, of course...I'll get the worst of it. What's our crime? Helping him and his meth addicted gf out with money, etc. for our grand-baby, and then having the audacity to have said "negative things" about him and their dangerous situation and environment.

Go figure, huh? So, we understand the madness & fear, too.

could it be that the proximity of 2014 is at the heart of it?.

i have no contact with jw's - except on this board - but my wife does at times with her family.

imminent is the cry of the sky for the jw's it seems.. i recall the years leading up to 1975 with a lot of that sort of thing.

Does this justify human ritual sacrifice of others?

There is a difference between medical emergencies and dying versus selection of healthy victims for sacrificial rituals having their throats slit and using their blood to sprinkle on an altar.

So...are these future blood scarifices to be animal or human? If human...are they...willing? Ya' know, like suicide bombers, flaming buddists or Jehovah's Witnessses? They, after all, are 'cognizant' and religious...agnostics and atheists usually do't see a future in that sort of thing.

Are we actually talking about a HUMAN BEING?

There are some people who live and breathe here on our home planet...who cause, thru their actions (no matter sincerity), much, much suffering and death. Rapists, pedophiles, murderers fit that description, right? So, especially, do some political, religious and criminal gang leaders.

When we hear about the likes of Jim Jones, Adolf Hitler, Stalin, Charles Manson, Kim Jong Ill and many, many others dying, dead...do we, should we, feel sadness? Or, fret about their humanity slipping away? I am not for torturing -- even the worst of humans -- to punish them, because it lowers me to their level.

BUT...in OUR little world of JWism -- people like Russell, Rutherford and Jaracz collectively have destroyed the peace, families and lives of millions of people. I say "good riddance" and will shed no tears, shall not feel sorry for them, even if they have an excruciating death. My JW mom followed the words of this 'Admiral of the Good Ship Watchtower' -- to her death -- believing his interpretations over the blood issue. Which, of course, changed shortly -- New Light Late LightPoor Light...hemoglobin was then allowed. She could have lived.

Being a JW has ruined most of my life, I lost my mom, family, marriage and almost a newborn whom we refused a blood transfusion.

I welcome Ted Jaracz' impending death. Can anyone really, justly wag their accusing fingers at me ?
