I posted on another thread that the Supreme Court had reserved judgement after hearing the case. The article also said the decision may not come for months.
I will party when it happens. I lost my JW mom to this nonsense and many years ago, my now ex-wife and I both refused transfusions for our newborn. The docs thought eventually our baby would need blood. We were prepared to 'kidnap' our baby with the silent help of 'the brothers', as it was, our newborn got better -- and wasn't sacrificed.
So, yeah...I'll party when I know my kids and grand-kids won't die from the WT gods ignorance.

this is hard for me to say, i don't even know where to begin.. .
first off i was wrong for judging a whole group of people based on the actions of a few others.. .
there have been many courteous replies from some of the gay posters on here, and i know it must have been hard considering all the things that i said.
I missed the end of the other thread that was deleted.
I noticed that, although you said, "I was wrong." I saw nothing of an apology to OhioCowboy...was there one ? To the person you've maligned for months ? And blamed 'all bad things gay' on ?
Accepting responsibility for being "wrong" and trying to 'fix' it somehow -- should be at the Top of your list, IMHO.
Your friend,

when i first attended the congregation of jehovahs witnesses i never even thought about whom or what was the faithful and discreet slave.
i do not believe that this information is ever taught to the public directly.
i think you have to be baptised or start attending the same meetings as those that are baptised.. anyway what made all of you adapt the teaching of the faithful and discreet slave (class or whatever)?
While you were sleeping Jesus Christ arrived like a thief in the night. Didn't you notice? How are you by the way? Estephan
In the last 2 days alone in the DFW area, 3 men who "arrived like a thief in the night" have been shot dead by homeowners. JC better be careful. That's in Texas, but, they've got plenty of AK-47's in the Middle East. Besides...wasn't he supposed to "split the eastern sky"? And, "...every eye will see him?" And, I'm feeling much better, now that I am agnostic. Rabbit

FunkyDerek, ya' beat me to it ! I only read the first page today, recognized Brownboy and came to page 5 to say:
Hey, Brownboy, how are they hanging ?
'Prince' Rabbit
in sydney in the late 80's a bomb blew up the kingdom hall killing one man and injuring many.
the hall was badly destroyed.
later stories spread about how jehovah "saved" the congregation.. 1. the brother who died was large and sat in front saving many lives by taking the full impact.
That was a horrible thing to go thru...it reminded me of Iraq, 9/11 and other wars.
As the song goes, "What is it good for? NUTHIN'!"
And it reminds me of the Bible's War God, Jehovah...what He's done in the past...and what grisly deaths He and his followers are looking forward to in the 'really near future'. Billions of dead and dying people.
I hope the murderer behind the bombing is caught and punished.
from the canadian supreme court's website, the court will hear a pivitol blood case whether a jehovah's witness teenager should be forced to have a blood transfusion.
this important case will most likely set the tone of the canadian government stand on a minor's right to refuse medically recommended life-saving treatment.. skeeter.
.
Another story...

By The Canadian Press
OTTAWA - The Supreme Court reserved judgment today in a case that pits a teenage Jehovah's Witness against the government's right to force medical treatment.
Lawyers for the young woman asked the court to overturn a Manitoba child welfare law that forced her to have a blood transfusion against her religious principles.
The province acted under legislation that sets the cut-off age at 16 for medical decision-making - a provision which her lawyers say violated the teen's constitutional rights.
The case could have far-reaching implications because several other provinces have laws setting 16 as a legal benchmark in such cases, and some set the cut-off point as high as 19.
The girl, now 16 and living in Ontario, was 14 when she was hospitalized in Winnipeg in 2006 with a flare-up of Crohn's disease - a chronic illness that can cause gastrointestinal bleeding.
She insisted on being treated without transfusion, but Manitoba Child and Family Services obtained a court order compelling her to have the procedure after it was recommended by her doctor.
Her lawyers argued that decisions should be made on a case-by-case basis according to the intellectual capability of the young person involved - not according to an arbitrary age scale.

well, it's not exactly on the date but the first opportunity thereafter!.
it's been a hell of a ride.
we were both regular pioneers when we met and we weathered the storms of getting married (both sets of parents did their best to keep it from happening), chris leaving the borg, me staying in for another 15 years and two kids, his family disowning him, my father's suicide .
We LOVE you guys ! Congratulations on 25 years !
We will be there !
