Castration anybody...?
by Rabbit inpersonally, i would have no problem with this law.
if they want to 'rejoin' society, this should be a condition of their release.
i do not understand why human rights groups would be more concerned about these dangerous criminals...more...than children.. what do you think?.

Avi,
I have heard that about rapists, when applied to older victims, not children. I'll admit I don't know a lot about the subject. Do you have any links to studies that may have been done?
I wonder how the rapists would do with just a 'stump'? At least it would be more difficult to pass along disease or pregnancy.

Chipper,
I just wanted to remind you: You still haven't even attempted to answer me on your own thread, "Are we following men?"
Please, go back and answer, explain why the WT's Governing Body is not bloodguilty for my mom's death.
I won't stop asking.

Poland okays forcible castration for pedophiles
Fri Sep 25, 12:45 pm ET
WARSAW (Reuters) – Poland on Friday approved a law making chemical castration mandatory for pedophiles in some cases, sparking criticism from human rights groups .
Under the law, sponsored by Poland's center-right government, pedophiles convicted of raping children under the age of 15 years or a close relative would have to undergo chemical therapy on their release from prison.
"The purpose of this action is to improve the mental health of the convict, to lower his libido and thereby to reduce the risk of another crime being committed by the same person," the government said in a statement.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk said late last year he wanted obligatory castration for pedophiles, whom he branded 'degenerates'. Tusk said he did not believe "one can use the term 'human' for such individuals, such creatures."
"Therefore I don't think protection of human rights should refer to these kind of events," Tusk also said.
His remarks drew criticism from human rights groups but he never retracted them.
"Introducing any mandatory treatment raises doubts as such a requirement is never reasonable and life can always produce cases that lawmakers could never have even dreamt of," said Piotr Kladoczny from the Helsinki Foundation of Human Rights.
"If somebody is of sound mind, we punish him. If he is sick, we try to cure him -- that's how it works in Polish law. This bill introduces both approaches. As far as I know, this makes our law the strictest in Europe on this issue," Kladoczny said.
The bill, which also increases prison sentences for rape and incest, must still be approved by the upper chamber of parliament. This is seen as a formality as Tusk's Civic Platform party holds a majority of its 100 seats.

Unloaded on the husband of my wife's study sister last night, how much damage did I do to myself??
by insearchoftruth inwell had a really good weekend away from home, but i guess i knew that the respite from the wts would end.
tuesdays are the day my wife has her personal bible study with the sister and she has also had the husband come over on tuesday afternoons so the son can have the pleasure of a bible study (which he loathes, he is a high school junior and has no interest in this stuff).
i get home from work late, after a fairly long day and the guy is still there.

Married for over 20 years to an 'uber dub' things really started falling apart -- when I started having questions about our beliefs. I was not getting good answers from the elders, only warnings that: "Bro. Rabbit...remember...the demons can't read your mind, but they can hear you expressing doubts. They'll report back to SATAN and single out you and your family for an attack."
So, I tried to talk privately with my then wife, being my best friend. That progressed badly. She declared me a "Spiritual Danger" to her faith -- within a year or so, she separated on those grounds (even tho' the elders disagreed with her).
Maybe, you should 'flash foward' with your wife. Ask her point blank, if she became a JW...What if? Blood transfusions for you, her, your kids? (My JW mom died over it) What if -- you son later left the JW's? Would she do what's expected? Etc...
Let me tell you from experience...this 'spiritual endangerment' clause is a BIG, Broad, loop-hole of a road that can be used anyway a witness wants. "50 ways to leave your lover..."
Be careful, my friend

Pjs:
First Rabbit, So sorry you lost your mom. She died with her faith in tact. She will be resurrected. And let us hope you will be there to greet her.
And...Second ?? To say I'm disgusted with your reply -- would be an extraordinary understatement.
You started this thread asking a question, yet you're totally without understanding or empathy for the reality of the answer: Yes ! JW's DO "follow men" -- that's where they have placed their faith -- in men. These JW religious leaders LED my mom to her death, as she believed their explantion about blood transfusions. They've made over 200 such New Light Bulb changes since first banning it in the 1940's. Think of all the Witnesses who died following the Watchtower's Current Light -- only to have it CHANGED !!!!!! And, never an apology, never a "whoops...did we say that?" Never a, "Thank you for your ____Fill in loved one's name_____ Human Sacrifice (unnecessary as it was)".
What about another similar deadly JW issue -- organ transplants? For decades, a transplant was considered "cannibilism" and was a disfellowshipping matter. JW's, being the gullible, easily misled, unquestioning they're taught to be -- gleefully offered themselves as human sacrifices based on the GB's word. They just had to die. It was expected. So-o-o...just like real sheep, easily led to slaughter -- they refused those organ transplants. Then, in the mid 80's -- the Olde Light Bulb burned out -- the New Light revealed Organ Transplants were 'OK'. The Watchtower Corporation changed The Truth once again...with deadly consequences.
Can you not admit that JW's "following men" of the WT CAUSED their deaths ??? We are not talking about some dumbass scriptural words' interpretation on some obscure doctrinal point -- we are talking about literal life & death matters.
And you say, "She will be resurrected." Wow...how comforting. THAT makes her death OK, eh? Did I mention she's cold and dead ? Let me repeat: The WT told her to refuse hemoglobin, she complied and died. Then, they said hemoglobin was, "OK", a mere "conscience matter."
You don't see the hypocrisy in that ?? Give me a real answer, dammit.

What we have been taught by holy spirit, is not debatable.
Bullshit. Why not? Prove it. By the way...I see you have totally avoided my questions about my JW mom's death. I figured as much, because you have no explanation of how your venerated spirit directed governing body could get something so wrong. You're worse that a troll...you just don't care about facts or people.
Facts get in the way of your cognitive dissonnance.

pjschipper:
" How many righteous instructions they have given us and help so many to manage their lives in harmony with Jehovah's will and avoid harm to themselves. JW's have a strong faith, and many of us don't have the time to do research or understand so many details. I put unimportant things in a file. The important beneficial teachings upfront. It does no one good to harp on the unimportant things. They will be revealed in time. We were told to expect tests of our faith, and we are having that now."
So! Explain to me how The Governing Body's "righteous instructions" "...in harmony with Jehovah's will..." protected my JW mom? You see -- she followed to-the-letter their "instructions" AND SHE DIED. The GB taught all of us (once upon a time) that any type of blood transfusions -- were a SIN against God.
After -- AFTER -- my mom died following the GB's "righteous instructions" they changed their minds again. Now, she could have taken blood fractions specifically -- haemoglobin. That would have saved her life.
So, she passed her "test of faith", DIED, then, The Truth © changed? Yes, it did according to the WTB&TS, INC.
Yet, does Truth ever change? Only if the one giving 'it' is a hypocrite.
If you don't answer this...I'll know you are just a troll, and not somebody truly interested in knowledge.
By the way...do you know HOW the Governing Body changes those NewLight bulbs?? They VOTE amongst themselves! They don't all "see" 'eye-to-eye' on spiritual things -- even tho' they are supposedly "the only true conduit" from Jah to humanity.
