i'm wondering how people feel about us exjws either becoming atheists or continuing on with a faith in god?.
do you get angry or frustrated at the opposing view?.
i'm new but i've seen different reactions to both on here...as for me i am happy to live and let live nowadays...its ok with me whatever people want to choose for themselves..... personally i still have enormous faith and love for god....if the jws couldnt destroy it i dont think much else could...?.
so this was the very first time in my whole life that i didn't go to the memorial.
my wife went, and she was sullen before and after... i know she wanted me to go.
i told her afterwards that if she wants me to go next year i would, but she didn't say anything.
daniel,
I guess it's one of those rites-of-passage that we must go thru on our exit from the WT's bondage. Like Lady Liberty, my 1st skipped Memorial was bothering me -- I got the wine and unleavened crackers and partook at home. My new sweet wife went along and participated with the whole ceremony...she knew how important it was to me -- and went along out of love for me.
I felt a little silly while I was "taking care" of my spiritual responsibilities, but, I finished it. But, since then, the whole thing just felt even more hollow as time went by. Now, I have never felt any need to attend, celebrate, nor have even a twinge of guilt or concern.
That's what has worked for me, but, luckily, we're all uniquely -- different.
i don't get on the forum often, but haven't heard from my e-buddy, black sheep, for a while.
any news?.
hope you all are well.
is there anyone besides me who would like to get a group together for dinner, maybe at a local tgi fridays?.
there's some faces i would really like to meet again.. i don't think that here in the dallas/north texas area, we've had a gathering in a while.. so if you have any suggestions for a particular day?
we could see when it would be convenient for most people.
