Hi Latte,
I couldn't decide for a while between Orcrist or amicus. Amicus had a nicer ring to it so I went with it.
Amicus= latin(m) friend

hi to everyone,just found this board yesterday.at first i thought.

this was "big rays" board,but i guess not,lol.i've been hanging out .

at h20 for the past 2yrs and learned quite a bit about the wbts,some.

I didn't mean to imply that you did anything wrong. You didn't. No one seems to mind talking about anything anywhere. Simon is very tolerant.
I just think it would be easier for those of us who want to follow the discussion if we go over there.

I'm with TR. Why not move this over to the Bible Research Forum? This Forum is too crowded for a long term discussion. If anyone chooses to refer to any of these postings in the future, they will be easier to locate over there as well. I'm not trying to be pushy, I just think it would be easier for everyone who is interested in this discussion.

My fav radio station is playing some music from the soundtrack as I type. Any of you movie goers should check this one out. It's funny, and the soundtrack is excellent (mostly bluegrass). If you don't watch it on the big screen, rent it when it comes out on video. It's clean too, so the kiddies can watch it (they might find it boring, though).

Baptizm Vows Changed - WHY!

it is interesting to note the change that has taken place in the vows taken just prior to to baptism.

the two questions that i was expected to give an affirmative to are shown here:.

(1) "have you repented of your sins and turned around, recognising yourself before jehovah god as a condemned sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him, the father, through his son jesus christ?".

Hi trevor,
I don't know if you were around when we had a similar discussion, but the FDS actually claim to be the mediator between Christ and the great crowd. The chain of command according to the WTBTS = God-Christ-FDS class-great crowd. Let's see, from memory the scripture reads; I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through the FDS class and then me. Did I get it right?

Thanks for posting the change in vows, I knew about them but haven't printed a hard copy for my binder. Until now that is.

I gotta ask, are you really a hiker? I'm about ready to go on a hike myself (really). There is a nice trail close to me alongside a river that is rarely used.

a good book,.

i was wondering if any of you have read a book "visions of glory" by barbara grizzutti harrison.

as far as i know, it is the only book written by a woman about the witness experience.

Spy vs. Spy

prisca's comments about wol made me wonder about official wts sanctioned spies and moles.

we all know for a fact that to the wts lies are ok, and spying does happen.

does anyone know of officially appointed wts spies, or do hard-core militant and/or plain old sneaky jw's just feel it is their duty?

As I stated earlier, neither of you have done wrong. I have spent years in the company of beautiful women such as yourselves. They did nothing wrong, ever, to be singled out. Yet they were victimized by asshole men. Not all men are like that, but the others can't fight everyone.
Before you think too harshly of waiting, remember what she has suffered. She is only reacting to the scars she has not recovered from and may never recover from. She is a victim as much as either of you have been.
