I always wanted a raven. There is a pet store near me that has some very neat birds like snowy owls, a rooster, tons of different varieties of parrots and this big beautiful shiny black raven named Dante. He's not for sale but I visit him as often as I can! He's very personable and likes to nibble on my rings!

My good friend used to have a Supra (I forgot the year) and he LOVED that car! I have a Mitsubishi 3000GT and I really love the way it looks. Nice curves! Now I'm attached to it and just keep shoveling money in for repairs. I always wanted a '69 Firebird. That's my dream car! Just imagine the $$ I'd have to put into that one!

Hi Huxley & Heathen! You are both super cool! I never did meet any members of The Gun Club but "Fire Of Love" was always a fav! No tattoos or piercings (unless you count my earlobes) Back then I think we tended to look more creepy. Pale skin, dark eye makeup, spiked or teased up hair (like Siouxsie). I used to wear my plaid kilt, combat boots, fishnet stockings and whatever band t-shirt was clean. I was a punker since the late 1970s when I heard those life altering bands like Wire (Pink Flag!) The Misfits (we knew the Jersey boys way back in the day), The Damned (we met Dave and the boys one night when they played NYC back in the early 80s, Dave Vanian was good friends with The Misfits and is super cool, very friendly!) Motorhead (we hung out with Philthy Phil and Lemmy when they played in New Jersey at some dive...Phil was the coolest, Lemmy had 2 sleazy broads hanging on him the whole night and this was when Brian Robertson from Thin Lizzy was in the band...he was pretty nasty and sloshed and I remember his nose was really red...but he was in Thin Lizzy so all is forgiven) The Clash, The Buzzcocks, Stiff Little Fingers, The Stooges, New York Dolls, The Ramones (our homegrown favs!), Patti Smith...uh-oh this list could get really really long! After I saw Black Flag for the first time (I think it was around 1980 or 81) it really was an experience never to be forgotten! They were so raw, so intense and so loud! It was like they slapped you in the face with every song they played! There were some really great scenes around the country like DC: Minor Threat, Bad Brains, SOA, Boston: SSD, FUs, Gang Green, Mid-West: Necros, Meatmen, Negative Approach and even Texas had their share with the likes of the Big Boys, The Dicks, MDC and Toxic Shock! Cali of course had tons of great bands (I was on that infamous Saturday Night Live when FEAR played and brought "slam dancers" in for their act) Some of the old flyers I made back then for gigs at CBGB are in a book called "F*cked Up and Photocopied" and it's a great testament to the "do it yourself" spirit and comradery that was so prevalant back then. Those scenes were cemented by dedication, creativity and a lot of bored, frustrated kids giving society and the music industry the finger! It was my whole life back then and I have nothing but fondest memories! Thanks for listening to me ramble on! Astro_Girl

I want to contribute to the band too! I will make crude cut and paste flyers (out of real paper images, NO COMPUTER GRAPHICS!), xerox them and hand them out when you guys play New York! You all can crash on the floor of our apartment too! Here's some fond memories I'd like to share: back in the early 80s when I was a "very involved in the scene" hardcore punker, we lived in Brooklyn and we always had bands that played in the city over our place to catch up on some sleep and feed them some super thick deli sandwiches from the Italian place around the block! We put up members of Black Flag, Social Distortion, The Minutemen and that was when D.Boone was still with us, Minor Threat, SSD, GBH, Meatmen, Necros...I could go on and on (but I won't) Some of the best times I can remember were those hc gigs outside of A-7 with 15 bands on the bill and getting home at 6:00 a.m. with some very tired and sweaty rebels against society!

Hi Peter!
My brother lived in Hungary for about 7 or 8 years. He lived in Szeged teaching at the university and then Budapest heading a small church. He's not a JW...but he is a Moonie! Been one for over 28 years and I always have hope he will snap out of it one day. Anyway, I have been to your country to visit my brother at least 4 times and thought it very beautiful and interesting! We would take walks along the Danube at night and look at the bridges. It was just gorgeous! I picked up a few phrases over there but I can't recall them now. You have a tough language to learn, at least for me! Anyway, I wish you a warm welcome!

by RAYZORBLADE inya know.....when i was becoming a good little dubby back in the mid 1970s, these guys were well on their way to stardom.. honestly, i liked them, even then.
but i seldom listened to them while i was a full fledged brain dead witless.. kiss: knights in satans service - and all sorts of madness related to their acronym.. in 1977, i remember just as i started attending meetings, there was an assembly in moncton, new brunswick, canada.
the night before the assembly, kiss performed there.

Speaking of the New York Dolls, did anyone ever seen Johnny Thunders?! We'd go to see him every chance we got at any dive he played (since there was always a 50/50% chance he'd be too messed up to perform) Sad day when he died but not unexpected.

Oh yeah! I saw 'em. They were the coolest and if you'd ever say one bad word about them around a Kiss fanatic, they would do you bodily harm! My fav song is LOVE GUN! I'm ashamed to say I sold my Ace Frehley pick on Ebay awhile back (but I got $40 for it!)

The Biggest Scandal In Your Congregation
by Hunyadi ini attended a notorious congregation as a child, the infamous winter gardens congregation!
my cousin and his best friend, both named joe, were elders, my cousin was the po and the other joe was a total loser suck up who wanted to be just like my cousin, joe.
what was even funnier, as i get off point a bit, is that "suck up" joe's wife, cathy, did everything she could do to get her pudgy lil self to dress, look, walk, and talk like my cousin joe's wife, clementine.

My husband (who was a JW in his teens) is dictating this to me while strumming on his Gretsch....it's um, a guitar. Apparently there were a lot of partying teen brothers and sisters in his congregation and they would smoke pot, drink and then do the nasty! The biggest scandal he can remember was when his friend "Joe" slept with two sisters (who were really sisters) at the same time. When "Joe" went to their house one day, their mother answered the door in a towel and nothing else! She invited him in and told him that she likes walking around the house nude! He fled. Also there was a story about some demonic talking cat that said to the owner of the house "Don't go in that room!" This story was kept very "hush-hush" as to not scare the children.
