  Just had surgery...

  yesterday i joined the "surgery club"...can't say i wish to keep being a member.

  it was a same day surgery, but should have stayed at lest overnight.

  didn't sleep much last night, as the pain meds made me itch terribly.

  What is Your purpose/point for being here?

  i get asked that question alot, some even ask what exactly my purpose is!

  i can live with it.. if i had to answer my own question, i'd have to say it broken down into a number of points.

  a. i like to see what the latest stuff is happening on the "apostate" side.. b. i like to watch the politics of this group.

  I found the posts here extremely interesting and alot have been very helpful

  I love Blondies watchtower study

  I found people have gone through the same experiences I now know Im not as crazy as I thought I was

  Some posts make me laugh

  It passes away a few hours reading posts

  I enjoy it here,i think its one of the best places on the web

  Do you ever find yourself singing old kingdom songs?

  it's been over 12 years and every once in a while i .

  catch myself sing kingdom songs.......only religious.

  songs i've ever knew.

  I always thought whoever put the music together for those (kingdom songs) had a tin ear

  didnt know how to play music and had no idea how to write lyrics.

  They are the most uninspiring songs I have ever heard

  give me the old rugged cross any day over anything they wrote

  Movies and TV Shows You Didn't Watch Because You Were A JW

  this week i mentioned how i never saw the movie "ghost" because it was considered "demonistic".

  i also volunteered that that i could not watch "bewitched", although "i dream of jeannie" was a conscience matter......any thing you didn't watch because you were a witness?

  Have any of you ever addressed the society re: jw's who are 'news worthy'?

  this has bothered me for a while now, maybe due to there being a few high profile poeple who are/will be/were jw's.. my x was a professional musician when we became jw's.

  he was advised, i don't know how may times, to basically get out of the profession, etc.

  to a point when he would on occasion do a wedding as a gift, his songs were written down and scruitinized by the elders, blah.

  Memorial - What are people actually thinking during it?

  i had posted some of this on another thread, when i thought it might be fun to have a thread of "what is actually going thru people's minds" when they are sitting there at the memorial...

  "i don't care what mom says, i'm never going to this dumb thing again.

  she could at least let me have my gameboy if she's going to make me come to these dumb things.
