Mostly I am a loner. I do find, though, that I dread attending parties or events beforehand, but really enjoy them once I am there. I wonder whether the solitary tendencies of those who have contributed to this thread kept them from "bonding" with the JW world. I used to be annoyed no end at meetings when people I barely knew asked personal questions.

got to be the habit of "proof" by self-reference.. go to any "public talk" and take note of how the speaker quotes from the watchtower to "prove" a point!
worsening world conditions, growing crime and the 'worse and worse' fallacy can all be "proved" as long as you keep.

Definitions are descriptions of the meanings of words, that is, of how people use and understand them. "Fundamentalist" is usually understood to refer to religious belief. I think the point is that the unwavering adherence to "fundamental" principles ascribed to religious "fundamentalists" is a type of adherence found in some active in other mental spheres, such as in the category of thought we call "science." That is, it is possible to espouse stated principle to the exclusion of contrary principle, theory or fact in any mental discipline, not only in religion. Thus "fundamentalist scientist" would describe a scientist who is not seeking scientific truth because he believes he has found that truth. His effort is directed toward promoting and defending his belief.

I'm also a victim of that "grey rule." Maybe victim isn't the right word as I don't really want to speak to anyone from the congregation. My ex committed adultery and left me. After a while I quit attending meetings. One of the elders had me over for dinner with his family (which he did often after my marriage broke down, fair play to him) after I had stopped going to meetings. He suggested a shepherding call, which I refused, saying it wouldn't do much good. He hasn't spoken to me since. I met his wife once in town on a Sunday afternoon. I was having lunch with my daughters at a restaurant and she walked in with her children. She could barely speak to me--out of embarassment, I felt. They actually walked out. Her adult daughter said to me "we're going somewhere else so Mom won't be so embarassed." Poor woman, she had probably been told by her husband not to speak with me, I was as good as DA (read DEAD) to him.

un resolution to ban religion

This resolution is passed.
Tribulation ensues (staged by the instigators).
Theocratic world order emerges from the induced chaos, under "anointed" leadership. (Kings and priests y'all).
Maybe it's an Illuminist plot and we are its pawns.
