WTS-UN Human Rights Connection?
by Van Gogh insorry to regurgitate some "old light" onto your keyboards folks, but i came across the following link: .
http://www.unhchr.ch/huridocda/huridoca.nsf/0/66cf0523c6217c4b802567cc002f8b0e?opendocument .
it shows how the wts was represented by three different observers from three different ngo's at the annual meeting of the human rights commission of the united nations in may 1999: .

Reply to Van Gogh:
Yet you were allowed to use 99% of the fractions from somebody else's blood bank donation. No blood needed to spilled there...
(Correct if Im wrong, but I believe by now we've run out of blood fractions that could be banned.) -

Haha, those crazy sons of b**ches. I wanted to join the army and they got all apeshit crazy about it and sent an elder to put me straight. Firstly he asked me whether I believe in God, and since I wasn't sure about that he propably thought about other malicious activities I might be involved in. So the next thing he asked was whether I masturbate or not.
Gee wizz oh jolly oh, in what position and how often do you bang your wife mr. Elder? What? Damn sure it's NONE OF YOUR $£@"#¤% BUSINESS.
Too bad I didn't come up with anything good at that time so I just lied and denied all self-gratification activities.
Second of all, nobody believes in evolution. The facts of life require no belief. -

Was it a blessing from jehober that dubs were not allowed to attend the memorials of people who committed suicides? If it was, how is it a blessing that jehober changed his mind now?
Great reasoning in the 77 watchtower. If there's a chance to shove your religion down the deceased one's un-believing relatives throats, it's okay to attend the memorial or give a PR-speech about Dubland. Where did we forget about respecting the deceased?
Reminds me of my grandmoms funeral, she was a dub to the end (didn't commit suicide), her best friend's husband (an elder) didn't attend the memorial 'cause my df'd aunt was present. -

It's fiNNish, with TWO N's. Finish means "to end something" etc. for christ's sake. Wow, once again some people get saved for "putting jehober first". Great. Why did jehober save them but not the fiNNish sister's (a brother!!) husband? Maybe he was busy drowning everybody...

The 7000 year "Creative Day"
by Fe2O3Girl inwhen i was a youngster, the creative days of genesis 1 were always referred to as being 7000 years long.
i believe the 1975 hoo-hah was related to this teaching as 6000 years since adam's creation plus a 1000 year reign neatly wraps up a 7000 years seventh day of rest.. in another thread narkissos quoted a wt article from 1983 that repeats the 7000 year day teaching.
i don't think anyone much younger than me, or anyone who bacame a jw in the last 10-15 years is aware of this belief.

When studying the WTS calculations and general bullshit one should allways remember the WTS´ biblical key for deciphering prophecies and times in general in the Big Book. Farkel rewealed this key to us in his excellent "Dubs for dummies" post. "?Times-equals-lunar-years-equals-days-equals-solar-years?" :D

Web addiction excuses conscripts
by Elsewhere ini can see it now, jws saying: i can't join the military, i'm addicted to field service.
http://www.cnn.com/2004/world/europe/08/03/finland.internet.reut/index.htmlweb addiction excuses conscripts.
helsinki, finland (reuters) -- a number of finnish conscripts have been excused their full term of military service because they are addicted to the internet, the finnish defence forces said on tuesday.. doctors have found the young men miss their computers too much to cope with their compulsory six months in the forces.. "for people who play (internet) games all night and don't have any friends, don't have any hobbies, to come into the army is a very big shock," said commander-captain jyrki kivela at the military conscription unit.. "some of (the conscripts) go to the doctor and say they can't stay.

Well JWs here in Finland don´t have to serve in the Defence Forces. I guess when every JW in the 80´s and before went to jail instead of the military the government decided it´s cheaper to let them betray their country than to put couple of hundred people to jail for upkeeping every year.
But that was when JWs considered civilian service to be out of the question as an option to armed service. After -96 the JWs didn´t feel obligated to inform the government that JW men actually now CAN accept civilian service. There was some changes made to the conscript laws a few years back and the local apostates informed the government that JWs should be denied of their unfair advantage over other people since these days civil service is okay for them. For some reason nothing happened and JWs still get a service class C (meaning one doesn´t have to go to the army nor do civil service). They get it for two years at a time and then they have to provide the authorities with new documents, usually signed papers from the local elders, that they are still baptised JWs in good standing with the congregation. They have to provide the military with these documents in two years intervals until they turn 29 yrs old and get a permanent class C.
For normal people, there is no way to get a C-class without illness or injury. You refuse armed and civil service and you do jailtime. Some human rights associations have Finland on their scope for this, for JWs getting unfair privileges. And for putting people in jail for their refusal of serving in the Defence Forces.
Finnish men are called to arms on the year they turn 18. No big surprise, many many young JW men get quickly baptised when they are 17...
