2015 Regional Conventions Baptisms
by Gayle insince this is the first weekend of rcs, anyone going that can give estimates of how many are getting baptized, how many appeared about that were jw youth, and what attendance figure is at these rcs?.
i know u.s. baptisms are declining.
can any keep a running report?

I'd say the increase decrease would be based on how many children were raised as witnesses starting 9-15 years ago and are now of age and forced into making a decision. We all know they aren't coming out of "Satan's world", I mean except for the rare few who are vulnerable enough. -

Dwindling Attendance? Here's a quick fix!....
by Tech49 inso here's a real life experience you will get a kick out of.. our kh has about 90 publishers.
typical meeting attendance during a co visit is right at 100 or so.
the rest of the time, attendance is a dismal 50-60, sometimes 70 on a good week!.

A big hello and thank you
by iwasblind ini just wanted to introduce myself and say a big hello to all of my mentally diseased friends.. i say friends because i have been lurking for some time so it feels like home (us lurkers are a bit scared and cautious so it takes a while).
i won't bore you with too many details, but i am a born in, currently serving as the cobe of a congregation.
my wife and i have pioneered for the last 10 years and were shaken awake by that ridiculous 15th july 2013 wt about the generation and 1914.. my wife who is much smarter than me has questioned for years.

I regret DAing a couple months ago I must admit. I know my former friends want to ask questions. Some still text but keep it brief so there is no opportunity to help them. If I could get together with them I would eventually be outed but at least I did what I could to help, right? On the other hand my wife faded and is playing the depressed wife card. Oh poor sister, whose husband is an apostate, oh we are here to help you! Yeah, she wishes she had it like me. She has no desire to help, she just wants to be done with it. She has no interest in further research, jw forums, picking apart new literature, or keeping her fingers on the pulse in any way. I guess the grass is always greener as they say. -

Be careful, you might want to slash your internet, eat poorly, sell your home, work part time, and give all you possibly can so the work can be accomplished.
As shocking as we found it on this forum, the excitement of current witnesses about this program is just as shocking. Or is it?

Are You a 607 BCE Specialist?
by God_Delusion inhi guys & gals,.
we're currently preparing for the season finale of the show (to be recorded on sunday, may 24th at 2pm eastern time nyc / 6pm uk time / 4am sydney time.. as we're going to (finally) be covering 607 bce in detail, we're looking for a specialist (or two) that can come on the show and tell everyone about this almighty doctrine.
if you know your 587 from your 607 and why the 1914 and 1919 dates are important to jws (although most have no idea why), please send us an email to [email protected], using "i'm a 607er" in the subject line and let us know why we should pick you as a guest on the season finale.. can't wait to hear from you!.

I would recommend dismantling the society's two part "When was ancient Jerusalem Destroyed: Part 1" ...and "Part 2" articles. Their defense is funny when you start breaking it down line by line. -

New light on more parables
by Deltawave inwell after a full watchtower study last week about how we should not read to much into bible account as types and antitypes, we had a whole study article on what the 10 wise virgins now means.
interesting though is the fact that only in 2007/8 they taught that the discreet virgins were the annointed ones who waited for christ's return in 1914 and the foolish ones were the ones who fell away in 1914 because the end didn't come.
now though, we have new light!

I'm recently DA'd but my active mother still stays in touch because my dad was never a witness and hopes to "win him without a word."
Anyhow, I tried to ask her opinion on it and what people were saying out in service. She declined to comment for now but I'll keep working on it.

Excuses to miss the meeting that won't raise suspicion of a fade
by kairos inthe first step to fading is to begin missing the meetings.. "if" anyone misses you, a quality excuse must be at the ready.
this will produce empathy toward you as opposed to suspicion.. 1. car problems ( don't mention that you caused them ).
2. stuck on the phone resolving insurance, billing, etc issues.. 3. sick ( of the meetings ).

I had other stuff to do. Like sleep. Or eat brunch. Or do yard work. But certainly not go do the watchtower study like a robot. Good luck to you on that! -

The work is speeding up
by bradford ini don't have a great reference point on my observation other than my local area but i was wondering if this was a widespread thing.
... in the last two years in my former congregation there have been 6 people to disassociate for "apostasy," 6 disfellowshipped for various reasons, and numerous ones reproved.
these are just the ones i have heard about.

I'd say 10-20% of the congregation (115+ publishers) has been reproved/dfd/diassociated with an unknown amount non-believing but going through the motions. On the reverse side, about 1 or 2 gets baptized per year, usually a teenager that was raised as a witness. I don't recall the last one who was found in the ministry.
