  I'm not so sure a bigger awakening is going to happen anymore

  when i left in march officially i started reading the forums here.

  i had this excitement that more people would be leaving soon because of the crazy broadcasts, the crazy "new light" that the gb was dishing out, and more recently the australian royal commission lighting up geoffrey.

  this past saturday i had an elder stop by to chat for the first time since i left.

  @OneEyedJoe - It almost felt like a dip back into the ministry and remembering how I used to be as well which is a scary thought.

  @_Morpheus - Maybe I didn't think it was going to be a sudden reform, but thought at least a few more eyes would be opened to the matrix than normal I guess.

  When I left in March officially I started reading the forums here. I had this excitement that more people would be leaving soon because of the crazy broadcasts, the crazy "new light" that the GB was dishing out, and more recently the Australian Royal Commission lighting up Geoffrey.

  This past Saturday I had an elder stop by to chat for the first time since I left. I don't know if he was here to talk to my wife who has been inactive and not been to a meeting since January or to talk to me but either way..I was outside doing yard work and he had no choice but to approach me.

  He wanted to let me know I could talk to him about any doubts or wanted to know if anyone did something to hurt my feelings and all that. I didn't want to get into a conversation about all the things I now know that he has no clue about but he pushed me and we had a decent civil conversation. He eventually left and maybe he will think about some of the things I said..maybe he won't but the whole thing kind of hit me hard.

  Maybe I haven't fully given up on all my past friends and relationships yet and I wanted to think that some will wake up, but I think I need to put that to rest in my mind or I will only be led to be disappointed.

  Anyone else feel the same or gone through something similar?

  Going Nuclear - Marriage

  has anyone here gone nuclear on their spouse and, all of a sudden, came out in the open as a jw opposer?.

  by this i mean, sitting them down and saying: i no longer want to be a jw anymore, do not want to go to meetings or preaching anymore!

  and, what has happened in the relationship after that?.

  I was lucky. The moment I brought up 607, 1914, questions, questions, and more questions. .she said "that sounds like apostasy, you should talk to the elders." I told her I would but I doubted anything would come of it. She said that was fine she would rather me make a decision then fake it. Nothing she hates more than a faker.

  I DA'd and she hasn't been to a meeting since January. We've had a rough time adjusting to the brand new people that we are becoming but so worth it.

  i just love the statement "instead of eulogizing the deceased, use the material in this outline to give a fine witness concerning the truth.

  I gave one of these once, it felt so bizarre.

  That was for my grandmother. Was studying, weird situation.

  Strangely enough my grandfather wants me to speak when he dies (which won't be too far away since he has cancer). I don't think I'll talk about beliefs at all, just about how much life he lived and to celebrate it. He's not a JW.

  Bradford, are you actually planning to invite a few friends to a baptism and try to pass yourselves off as baptismal candidates?

  Not a chance where I live now, maybe if I ever leave the northeast US. How long would it take? 6 months?

  the cutoff date for this generation has now moved to 1992 (was once 1935), the year that fred franz died.

  in the latest jw broadcast splane is quoted as saying:.

  "suppose there was a man who died 10 minutes before joseph was born.

  would he be part of joseph's generation?

  Come on guys, give Splane a break! He clearly explained why a baby isn't part of the generation:

  Because a baby wouldn't be able to understand that leaves mean that a new season is coming. Only when you are old enough to understand what leaves mean are you considered part of a generation.

  The question is, who knows when a child fully grasps the 4 seasons and what leaves mean? Is it when they are 4? 5? 6? Let's wait and see...
