00:37: The Governing Body has directed..
So changes to cancel plans are directed by the governing body. To initiate the plans, however, it was directed by Jehovah/Jesus. Is it just me or is that kind of a big deal?

give it a chance.
it's hilarious and the reasoning is pretty interesting.
sorry for the profanity and it being over 10 min long.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekqjs_6qc-w.
Seen it before but it is hilarious! I got this from an email chain from a bunch of JW's! Reminds me of Maclamore or whatever his name is.
From JWs? That doesn't surprise me. I had a "friend" who literally gave away his entire collection of music, applied for Bethel, got accepted, then had his music collection returned.
give it a chance.

i know this question has popped up from time to time but i really would like to know how you guys, those that no longer believe, came to that conclusion?
was it the wts and all its crap?
was it something you read?
I believe there are as many "god's" as there are people. Whether you see whatever "it" is as a God or a power or something scientific, at some point there was nothing, then there was something.
To each person what you believe is unique to your experiences, upbringing, and thinking process.
The problem comes in when trying to turn something that is unique into a "system" of belief that controls how people think and act or when you believe something that will impel you to do something detrimental to society.
so this is just so nauseating to me when she noddes her head in agreement and in a low voice or sound does a "mmm uh" in agrrement.
but here is the deal, she never aswers at the meetings.
she doesn't go out in service often.
From an 02 awake:
Practical suggestions on how to listen during a conversation include turning away from distractions, leaning slightly forward, and giving active feedback with eye contact andnodding. Since much of our learning depends on effective listening, paying attention is something we must all continue to work on.
So basically she is doing this part, paying attention at meetings, but not listening to the other parts about participating by comments and field service.
Pretty standard JW behavior if you ask me.
here is an idea i tested.
works at both assemblies and conventions.
i have noticed at the last convention and at my last assembly that when i opened up my wifi setting, tons of hotspots came up for people tethering their tablets to their smart phones.
Is it possible to name the connection the title of the convention?
Then, have them redirected to terms and conditions where they have to read a few things..click accept, then get redirected to jwfacts.com, oh mannnn, I should go park at the local hall and try it out..
just a wee warning on following links to jwtalk (jwt).
if you are a member there then it is very easy for the mods to identify if you have come in from this site.
they will then ban you.. so, if you are member here and trying to lurk there then don't click on any links to jwt, just copy and paste the link into a new browser tab..

Brainard.
Had Cook as a DO, he actually conducted one of my studies from the knowledge book. Dude always carried around this small ruler.
while i was sitting through another grueling watchtower, dying from my brain being turned into cult pudding, i had this thought after i heard this read: .
when we express our most intimate thoughts to god in prayer, he may answer us through a bible passage, an article in a magazine, or an encouraging word from a fellow believer.
-august 2015 watchtard.
Prayer is an interesting concept that, even as a witness, I sometimes shook my head at myself as if asking myself what in the world are you doing talking to yourself?
Some people say that there is no way their prayer wasn't answered because it was so specific and unless someone read their mind they wouldn't know what they had asked for.
Others, when they get no answer to their prayer, say that is God's way of answering. What you prayed for you need to be more patient, or it isn't according to God's will.
If you believe in prayer there are only 2 acceptable answers.
1. A direct ask by a person for x and receipt of x at some unknown time interval. Voila! Prayer works.
2. A prayer unanswered. Pray more. God must not want me to have x. I'll pray for y instead.
The 3rd option is left out entirely. Maybe you are talking to yourself and there is a thing in life called coincidence.
