  You don't know there is something rather than nothing, and more importantly you assume they are mutually exclusive. In a set called "everything", can "nothing" exist? Of course it can. "Everything includes everything, and "nothing" is a part of everything.

  So you can spout your nonsense, that's why. God thought about YOU when he made stuff, and just to make you think this way, he gave elements "properties."

  By the way, what are "properties" in elements?

  It is notable that everyone has their opinion about this subject, but no one has bothered to consider what Jesus himself said. Fascinating.

  Jesus summed up the entire Jewish Law and HIS gospel with the simple statement to love your Creator and to love your fellow man. He said (in effect) all the rest of the Law pointed to those two things.

  Everything that counts is summed up with those two simple admonitions. Yet, people make thousands or hundreds of religions that are formed to discuss the "fine points" of those two simple things. Most of those "fine points" involve killing or neutralizing people who disagree with those to start a religion and who don't just get the simple stuff and who just want to be a somebody who started another stupid religion.

  awhile ago when i heard that prince had joined the borg immeadiately i thought "man, what a waste of talent" and yes i do think that musically prince is very talented.

  anyway, it got me thinking about how many of us wasted our time, money and effort in jw-ville.

  a "worldly" friend of mine, who i've know for over 20 years (he's a couple years older than me), had a heart attack yesterday.

  he's ok..."missed a bullet.

  " he had an arthroplasty, and is out of icu...doc says he'll probably feel better than he has for years.

  But it got me to thinking, ya know...what difference does it make, what I think might happen after I die? I used to think that I'd either survive Armageddon, or be resurrected. And, fwiw, I still think something will happen with me "afterwards," but so what difference does it make what I think, or don't think???

  : The second point. Coercion to destroy the family. Again, I will not speak about the literature of Jehovah's Witnesses, or about the Bible, because in fact the literature of Jehovah's Witnesses contains so many exhortations to love one's relatives and to build strong family ties.

  It's interesting to note that this lawyer person will "not speak" about the literature of Jehovah's Witnesses, and then does just that: says that the Jehovah's Witness literature talks so much about love.

  It's also interesting that this person will "not speak" about the Bible, since the Bible and the literature of Jehovah's Witnesses have virtually nothing in common.
