Hi Mommy
You really touched a cord in me when you wrote of being different and not wanting anyone to feel sorry for you. I bristle at the thought of anyone feeling pity for me.
You know, this life has handed me a lot of lemons. However, I like to think I make pretty damn good lemonaide!
Going to email you ASAP with more details regarding your post

Hi Amazing,
I chuckled when you mentioned not being a "happy camper" when you added the third child. I too wanted three children, but unfortunately, I just don't do the pregnancy thing very well. With the challenges I have with the two I have, maybe that is not such a bad thing.
My daughter, who is 10, was just out of infancy when she was diagnosed. She has been cancer free for almost 9 years. I hope I didn't give the impression her illness was recent. Treatment was a long, bumpy road. The strain on my family was tremendous. There are no words to describe how grateful I am to be able to watch her grow up. However! The curse my mother put on me when I was a kid worked! I have a daughter that acts the same way I did when I was a kid![D]
I have shared about my daughters illness before. She had leukemia, and of course, that brings up the whole blood issue. I was not a JW as an adult so there was no question that she was going to get a transfusion. She certainly would have died without it. I was (can't now because of meds I take) a blood donor for years before she was even born and thought it was important then. I had no idea that one day my childs life would depend other blood donors. So, I share about my experience here because of the JW stand on human blood.
I have also read many of your posts. The one that comes to mind was your post about your nephew coming to visit and all the driving he and his wife had to do to visit his JW parents.
Thanks so much for your well wishes for me and my family.

i was aware when i da'd myself that i would be shunned.
what i didn't expect was how my children would be treated by brothers and sisters.
no phone calls or anything.
Hi Jurs,
I'm saddened to hear about your children being shunned.
When my Mother (just stopped going to meetings) and my Aunt (who was
DF'd) were shunned by their witness family, (me, my siblings, and cousins) were shunned right along with them. It has been 20 years since the whole family has been together.
One particularly sad story happened to my cousin. About 10 years ago one of my shunned cousins bumped into one of our witness cousins. She
introduced herself as "your Aunt so and sos daughter". He just retorted back with a disgusted tone in his voice he declared "I don't HAVE an Aunt so and so" and just left my poor other cousin completely humiliated. Her only "sin" was to be the daughter of a DF'd witness.
Loving organization, INDEED!

hello, i married a wittness in 98. although i do not believe that way.
i thought that i would be able to deal with the religion.
but as it turns out, i can't.
Hi TL,
You sounded much more sure of yourself in your last post.
As far as your husband trying to take the children. I know you wrote that he works 6 days a week and would simple not have the free time to care for them. I also wanted to add that my Father was able to keep my Mother from leaving him for years by using this threat. I'm glad to know you looked at this threat logically and saw through him.
I am also very heartened to find out what supportive parents you have.
It helps to make a difficult situation a little bit less stressful.
You seem to be heading in the right direction.
Take care!

last night i went to my first meditation class, conducted by a nice young man, teaching a yoga-type meditation.
it is my first venture into meditating, and i thought i would share a couple of interesting points.
i was with an old friend, who also happens to be an ex dub, but only out about a year.
Hi Mulan,
I have always been into working out and exercise. However, now that I am pushing 40, I just can't workout as often(6 days as opposed to 4 now)as I used to. I was always curious and finally decided to give Yoga a try. So far, I really like it. I was originally attracted to it because of the physical-ness of it.
I have found that I also have difficulty with centering and concentrating on my breathing. My mind always seems to be racing from one thought to another. The instructors tell me that I will get better with practice.
I plan on continuing with it. I feel like I am doing something on the days I don't workout and I feel so relaxed and energized afterwards.
BTW I really like what your instructor said about being IN your body.
Keep us posted!

Hi Totally Lost,
Those last few sentences in that last post of yours nearly brought tears to my eyes because it reminded me so much of my own mothers situation over 20 years ago.
You said that your daughter is close to your parents? Would they perhaps be willing to take you in temporarily while you try to put a life together for you and your children? Just a thought.
From your description, you sound very depressed. Please seek help if you are able.
I am going to go out on a limb on this but, it sure sounds like you can't cope with this situation much longer. I think you had better start planning (secretly of course) your escape. Dig where ever you have to to find the strength, but start doing it. If not for you, then for your children.
Good luck to you!
We care!

ok last post before me and my pillow get together.
so what is the dress code of jw.
i notice a lot of long skirts, and dresses.
Having not been to a meeting since I was a child I cannot comment on the current dress code in female JWs.
However, about 10 years ago I supervised an office staff that included two JW women. One day they were having a very spirited conversation about another female member of their congregation. To this point I had never discussed my association with the JWs. Their conversation began to get very vicious. They were commenting on the womans hair and clothes. They got into how they were disgusted by her "obsession" with looking good and her constant showing off. I really can't remember the exact words, but I remember the nasty overall tone of the discussion. It was loud enough that I could hear it my office.
I casually strolled out into the area where they worked and pretended like I needed to use the copy machine. They never even paused in their diatribe against the "offending" woman.
When they "rested" for a moment (to catch their breath before the next tirade, I assume), I said something to affect of "I don't think I have ever heard two JW's go after one of their own in such an appalling and vicious manner. It's very unchristian like, don't you think? I wonder what Jehovah would think about it"?
The looks on their faces were priceless. I swear they gasped! And that poor woman, that was the subject of their conversation, they probably did all they could to make her life miserable in the cong.
