Hello : )
I'm twenty-one and left "the truth" five years ago, amidst questions going even beyond the society's credibility, and even beyond my own credulity. My quest of sorts began with inquiry, and has at this point developed into activism. I love my fellow man and woman. I probably agree with every statement for human rights ever enacted officially, or suggested publicly and rationally.
Among Jehovah's Witnesses is a kind of love that you would expect to find in persons truly concerned with the progression of mankind, and with the freedom and well-being of each person in our world.
I've only today begun researching the current condition of The Watchtower, Bible and Tract Society. I've read a number of articles, particularly ones concerning the society's involvement with the United Nations. I am amazed. I am happy. I am no longer Christian, and I no longer care.
I would be entirely over-joyed to see my old friends and my family participating in the further development of human relations. A world without religious separatism and hate: beautiful.
What will be required of us to enact such a step? Although the society might be unwilling at this stage to engage in philosophical inquiry, perhaps we'll see pragmatic involvement, at least. Yes they are denying said ties currently, but could it be that we've witnessed the society as a child, tentatively playing with a wonderful friend? What if Jehovah's Witnesses across the globe unitedly said, "It's ok. It's time for change within our organization. No longer can we stand by and watch as our fellow man suffers. No longer can we sit in our comfortable chairs and listen to talks as our spiritual (ideological) brothers shoo away insects during those same talks."
