i just told them where i work as a volunteer, that i am going to a workshop for those that have left a cult tomorrow.

they were all fascinated and wanted to know which cult i had belonged to.

i said jw's and this one guy said i he used to be one of them.

The mind control indoctrination lock they had on me was severe.The key to my release was to make comparisons with the other destructive cults.I was amazed that the moonies call their deceptive protocol of lying;"heavenly deception" how that rings and resonates with the Watchtower's:"theocratic warfare".

I have just come back from a recovery workshop and found so many similarities between the different mindset of people who had left various cults and sects that I have to reason that JW's are in the same bracket.

The interesting thing is that we all regardless of which cult beleived at one time that we had 'the troof' and that in the main we all were sorely disappointed that it wasn't.

It was interesting that no matter what group/cult you leave you are viewed quite quickly as apostate/enemy and other group members fear you, if you say one negative thing about the group you have left.

You are both right they haven't left the WTBTS behind. I will remember what you said Justin and be more careful as to my vocab when talking about the JW's. A sect would perhaps be a better term than cult. It was only as I was going to this cult workshop thing that I metioned it.

But on that my ex who was a witness for over thirty years he has also said to not believe half I hear on sites like this. Why is that even ex JW's seem to think they know best?

I said JW's and this one guy said I he used to be one of them. He is quite a quiet man and said it was the first time he had told anyone that he had been one. He didn't agree it was a cult and was shocked and dismayed that I said I was an apostate. He just said it was hypocritical religion but that they has most of the bible right in his opinion.

But he looked really disturbed that I had been one and that I called it a cult? I am wondering why I said something, it was really odd. He told me not to believe stuff on apostate websites etc. etc. but he left over 7 years ago, it still has a hold on him.

hello every body,.

i'd like to introduce myself, i hope you will well understand me (indeed, iam a 23 yeas old french girl).. i am very happy to see that several personn has lived the seam experience has me so they are abble to understand better what i feel and who can help us to live better ans follow our way forward life(i hope you will understand what i mean).. i was born in a jw's family, and when i got 12 i begin to ask me some question and have some doubts about this ''thruth".. when i begin to have my boyfriend (not jw) i had to lie...we stayed 4 year together but i never had sexual relation because i was affraid of consequency (even if i was not baptized).

but every times "brother and sisters" told lies to my parents, about me and about what i was doing with my boyfriend (but we never did anything).

wasted life part 2

thank for all the messages a couple of days ago.

its frighening how we all accpeted it as the truth because they told us it was.

how many witnesses who were born into it like me ever did any research to really find out if it was what it claimed.

I keep telling myself it wasn't a complete waste but not as it could of been.

I was a third generation JW and left at the tender age of 43. I was married to an elder for twenty of those and am the daughter of one too. Pioneered the whole hog!

I had my doubts along the years but just seemed to go with the flow. As a woman you didn't get to ask many questions talk about a blind faith. Was told on many occasions I had a bad attitude for what? Questioning?

I had my beautiful children whilst a JW and would like to think that for awhile it was a fairly good family life.

When you lose something like your religion, a spouse etc there has to be massive fallout, inevitable, the grieving period takes time.

But life as a JW was harder than some lives but it wasn't a complete waste. I hope not anyway

wasted life

left 2 years ago and surf nearly every night.

i was an elder for 11 years did circuit assembly items etc.

in fact i did everything the society said.
