Are you black or white ? ( just asking)
by vitty inplease dont take offence but ive just realised something maybe its been touched on before,.but when i was reading the thread on bil cosby i read the one off obviously secret.
now as i am a white person i assumed he was white until he stated he was black.
so when i thought about it, i imagine everyone on this site is white, does everyone who is black imagine everyone else is black, and anyone oriental imagine everyone else is oriental.

Field Service Book Bag
by Pinned Blouse infor those that no longer go to the kh --i was curious as to what you have done with your field service bookbag?.
for a long time i could not look at it without feeling guilty, then a couple of times i looked at with contempt.... after awhile it mysteriously ended up in the dumpster including... the books, tracts, wt's, awakes, and return visits slips that was in it.. where is your bookbag right now?.

Circuit assembly wolf tale
by cyber-sista injust got this one in the email.
someone already posted this one, but it was sent to me by a "friend" who no longer communicates with me and then sends me something like this from the circuit assembly.
guess she thinks that now that i am "inactive" i may need this little wake up call.

Sounds like a twisted Mother Goose story.

Our dear Jackson is sick again . . . . interesting parenting question
by cruzanheart inthis is starting to remind me of my childhood.
of course, the plus side is that i grew out of most of it, but it was hell while it lasted.. jackson (our 8-year-old) had his tonsils and adenoids out the beginning of june, in an effort to help reduce the number of infections and viruses he's been getting.
he's allergic to a lot of stuff, most of which grows in texas (where we live), and we've tried allergy shots on two separate occasions which reacted badly on him.

Poor little guy...I hate when they get sick and are so helpless...hope he feels better soon.
As far as being a younger mom, I had my daughter at 21 and my son at 34....I love my daughter very much but in no way was I prepared, emotionally for parenthood...I was still a baby. I have a lot more patience now and appreciation for my status. But, I do enjoy being a younger mom of a teenager....we do enjoy one anothers company and I'm not so far spanned from her generation that I cannot relate nor remember. Energy wise, I think I have more energy now than I did then. I'm more educated about taking care of myself and staying active. It's definetely better being older....I'm ready for one more :) why not?

Easy targets, who are they?
by JH inwho would you say would be the "easier targets", when jw's knock at their door?
do you think that there are any particular people who would be more vulnerable to fall into the jw trap?

People who have messed up lives, insecure, anti-social, in need of a support group of some sort.

Did you wear your badge outside the convention, so as to "give a witness?"
by truthseeker inthis year at the dc, we were expressly told to wear our badges at all times, even when going to a restaurant or some place else, so we could "give a witness.".
did any of you hear follow through with this arrangement?
did you have one of those "fantastic" experiences, when someone commented on your badge?.

What is your flavor of Beer? (why? Just taste?)
by confusedjw inin another post someone mentioned americans loving micro beers - and i thought about beers i drink and why.
i drink budweiser on occasion because they sponsor events i like.
i drink miller high life on occation just because of the great 'lone man talking' commercials.

when I lived in AZ I loved Fat Tire, it's out of Utah...so not sold around here.
On a cold snowy night, I like to sit in my favorite pub, watch to snow fall, with a Guinness in hand....
But, on a hot summers day, a slice of lime in my Corona is quite refreshing....
Other favs...
Bass Ale
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
New Castle
...whatever the weather, whatever the mood...but never ever, ever....Coors light, budweiser, miller, or any of that sort tastes like watered down beer....yuck!

I first wrote a letter to my mom and dad...and then I called my best friend from childhood...she was DF'd 5 years prior. Now we live 45 minutes away from each other and see each other often, picked up where we left off. It's great to have someone from your past that experienced everything the same way at the same time.
I don't speak to my mom and dad, they don't even call to ask about the kids.....

July 4th , the great JW holiday?
by ezekiel3 inall my life as a jw in the us, my parents shuttled us off to the fireworks, to sit among the worldlings and the waving flags to enjoy the show.
this was an almost universal practice with elders and pioneers as well.
as a child, i always noted that what we (jws) were doing was no different than how anyone else celebrated the 4th.

We watched fireworks while growing up, my dad even bought some and set them off....but then, some people in the congregation started expressing that we shouldn't be doing that anymore....so everyone kind of stopped...but my dad still bought his own fireworks (they were small ones of course). I also remember on Thanksgiving we'd have a huge dinner, but not turkey...my dad made great duck. Also, my daughter is going to her dad's this weekend, and they are all having a big BBQ on the 4th (he and all his witness family and friends)...yeah...it's so hypocritical.
