  What's your nicest souvenir of your time spent as a JW?

  my daughter...whom I'm happy to say wants nothing to do with JW's....

  also, helping in food at conventions serving and preparing a lot of times we got to miss the last talk b4 intermission to go back for kitchen duties. there was a really cute boy i liked too so that was even more incentive :)

  we had some fun parties, my mom always managed to throw for all the kids in the area, some were costume and talent shows...yeah she was talked to by the elders numerous times but she fought for it....too bad she's still a witness....

  Congregation gossip - Why so rampant?

  is is just me, or did every congregation have a big (as in greater than in the non jw world) problem with this?

  how have some been affected?

  my 14 year old observed this on her own, she came home 1 day from her father's weekend in Wisconsin and after visiting with several of their friends there in the cong and the family....she told me 'you know, the witnesses are always gossipping about each other and talking bad about each other, even grandma'.....

  anyway, this is an email i received this morning.

  don't want to give any disrepectuful comments about it as this tragedy is overwhelming and i am grateful for any who have come out of this alive.

  but yet i am still suspicious of any of these jw reports.

  I can tell you right now that this is total BS. The wave hit at 6:30AM local time. There are NO meetings anywhere at 6:30 AM.

  that's exactly what I was thinking......and doing the preaching work too???? at that hour?

  Yeah I agree....Tony Soprano is quite a pork chop as well....you just kind of expect people on t.v. to be a bit thinner....even the young girl Meadow was putting on the pounds....perhaps they were trying to be realistic....

  anyway...can't wait until the final season

  I am rubbish at Christmas cards.

  this is the first year i have sent any at all.

  i have just got one from the neighbour two doors down, last minute so to speak.

  Your neighbor is obviously trying to reach out to you, it would be nice to acknowledge that and reciprocate in some way...maybe even bring over a bottle of wine and wish them a very Merry Christmas!

  Anyone practice yoga?

  i've been looking into starting yoga.

  i hear it's good for relieving stress and things like that.

  i'm curious as to the results others have had while practicing yoga.

  I do yoga to help in preventing sports related injuries due to running and biking long distance.....there are different levels and purposes of yoga so if you are looking for it to be a spiritual/religeous experience there is yoga for that as well.

  Start with a good beginners yoga tape by Rodney Yee, atleast it can show you some of the fundamentals of yoga to get you started and to see if you like it.
