The Org and my marriage
by Chloe inwell, it looks like the jehovah's witnesses are going to start intruding in my marriage again.. a little background, when i first met my husband he was going to meetings sporadically.
he has studied off and on for years but was never baptized so he's always been in the "love bombing" stage with them.
he believes most of the doctrines (no christmas although he lets me celebrate it, the trinity is wrong, etc.

I was married for 22 years to a women who was raised a witness she was on my back all the time, I could never do enough, she pounded me with the head ship crap and how I did not meet the WT's instructions for christian husbands. The wedge you speak of was was drawn between us from the begining, and of course the elders and the WT's Idea's were even sneeking in on our sex life, there was no end to this insanity. Are we having an impact on the WTS?

i think ex-witnesses are better adjusted and recover quicker because of these web sites.
i know i was able to deprogram and come to terms with being in that cult for 24 years much quicker than being divorced after 15 years.

Maverick you have taken the words right out of mouth, we must have been brothers in some other life.
It never stops amazing me how exstensive the impact the witness's way of life and their teaching had on me, I was raised one I raised my kids as witness's I feel like dork for doing so. My present wife is so logical in most everything, thank god she has shone me how utterly stupid a lot of their dogmatic teachings are; I could list a lot of them but we all know a lot of them anyway. They may have some good teachings here and there, but you know, they are mostly just a polished turd. I know they will have ansure to god one day.

I think I hate Mother Teresa now...
by Preston ini've been reading christopher hitchen's love poverty, and war.
it's a pretty good book that puts a lot of things in perspective regarding iraq, iran, pakistan...there's even a section on mother teresa.
this section...was probably the most interesting part of the whole book i have read so far.

it's been reported to us that two elders burst in to a sda church service about a month ago seeking to trap a witness man there.
the man, a witness for 14 years, had become disillusioned with the affairs of the wts in australia after viewing the "sunday" program on channel nine which exposed the cover-up of paedophilia in the witness movement.

Mine turned out to be a real farce. I could hear laughing going on in their hallowed room of books, after I was asked to go out while they made their holy spirit induced judgement (decision), when I Heard I that, I pounded on the wall so they could hear it, then left, and went and drank a beer and played some pool.

Of course they have zeal, everyone has zeal to some extent concerning something. I feel now being away and looking back that I was pushed along mostly by the power of cult, but I also had zeal in what I felt was my worship of Jehovah and finding salvation. Lets get real please.
